Can You Case It? #105 - Colour Challenge Week

Welcome back to another Can You Case It? challenge and this week we are going with a colour theme.

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2732

Now I don't know about you, but these colours just screamed Valentines Day to me and that's exactly what I used my card for:

Now this design came to me after seeing an advert in my local paper, where they had repeated the word over and over in black and then again in a bright colour. I thought instantly, that would make an awesome card... and it did!

The Layered Letters are just perfect for this type of card. They fit beautifully together and are really easy to line up. This design would really work with any words, but they would have to be only a few letters I'm guessing,  otherwise you might not fit the "coloured" word on the card. I really want to give this a go with kids names and I thought it would be cute for a new baby too. Just have to convince one of my friends to have another baby lol.

Well thanks for popping in for CYCI? and I really hope you'll pop over to the blog, check out what all the other amazing DT's have made and even have a little go yourself!!

Can You Case It? #104 - Sky is the Limit

Hello guys, a super quick post today as I'm currently in the back of beyond camping with the FamBam. It's a long weekend for us as Monday is Australia day!!!

So I'm here to say, welcome to another week of Can You Case It? and this week we have a super sketch challenge for you all.

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2730

As you can see the sketch is brilliant and very easy to use. I reckon there are tons of cards that this layout conjures up. This is mine:

I used the new SAB freebie called Sky is the Limit. This SAB item is only available until 15th Feb, so if you were hoping to choose it, make sure you get your $90 orders in asap!!

Well that's it today. Sorry it's short and sweet, but family time is calling!!

Happy Australia Day,

Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop - Balloon Celebrations

Afternoon guys, and welcome to another ESAD Blog Hop. Whether you've been hoping along and found me on your way or you are one of my regulars 'Hello' and I hope you are enjoying the long weekend!!

Today's card that I'm sharing is actually one of the cards I've made for my Classic Class which is on this Thursday and Saturday!

I used the new Balloon Celebration bundle (stamps and punch) to design this super sweet card. It was so easy to make and is really soft and pretty.

I added a few sequins that I had left over from the Perpetual Calendar plus my usual amount of Wink to the edges of the balloons, just to glam the card up a notch.

Well I hope you've enjoyed you visit. Please carry on hoping along to Carly Middleton as I kow they will have something spectacular to share with you all. Oh and remember we love to hear from you all too, so why not leave a comment and let me know what you love in the new catty!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Can You Case It #103 - Black, White and Fun or Elegant

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2728

Happy Sunday Guys and here's to another Can You Case It? Challenge!! This week we have a colour theme for you all, but with a slight twist.

Our colours are Black and White, with either an element of Fun or Elegance!!

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2728                 http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2728

I'm not sure which area my card fulls in, but would guess it's more Elegant then fun:

I love doing the ombre technique with big stamps and thought the Just For You sentiment from Botanticals for You would be perfect for that technique. Now when I started to get all my supplies together to make this card, I realised I didn't own a Basic Grey stamp pad... I know right!! But after a wondering around my craft room, I suddenly realised I did have Basic Grey in our beautiful markers. Winning!!

So to get the ombre look, I first coloured in the middle of the stamp with my marker and then inked the top in Smokey Slate and the bottom with our Basic Black. I made sure to blurr the lines of each ink, so it looks like it's fading into the next colour.

To finish of the card, I of course added a little Wink to the sentiment and some tiny rhinestones to my punched out flowers.

Now it's over to you, to create and share your beautiful Black and White cards for this weeks challenge. Don't forget to also pop over and visit the other DT's cards to see what they have to share with us!

Just Because - Swallow tail

I absolutely love the start of a new year. To me it always seems magical and full of promise. Hubby and I have sat down and had a huge conversation on what our goals are for this year and over the next five. And now the HUGE job of decluttering has begun.

While cleaning out one of our storage cupboards I can across some old National Geographics that I had picked up at a book sale, which were the same month and year as my Mum and Dad were born. I had brought them, thinking they would be really interesting to send them home. Well two years later and we still have them. But thanks to the decluttering plan, I'm ready to send them out to my mum, but of course needed to add a little card with them.

My card turned out to be very arty, vintage and even a little bit shabby chic, which is not my usual style at all. I blame all the reminiscing.

I watercoloured my Swallowtail using Elegant Eggplant and Mossy Meadow which I then stamped onto white cardstock. I used my aqua painter to then flick those ink colours and my Wink of Stella across the card. There's my glitz!

I finished off with two, faceted buttons for the middle of the Butterflies body and some gold thread under my sentiment.

My mum, loves receiving my cards for her birthday and Christmas, so I guess she'll be pretty excited to get this little package in the post for no reason other then I was thinking of her, which I think is the best reason to get a card.

Can You Case it #102 - Sketch Challenge

Wow, here we are with my second Can you Case It challenge. I absolute love being a Design Team member and part of this amazing group of people. I'm so excited to see what everyone has made each week and this week is no exception.

Today, the team are sharing a sketch challenge with you all:

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2726
As with any sketch, this is just your inspiration so you can put your own spin on it, which is exactly what I did:

My beautiful niece was turning 6 just after Christmas and she just loves girly things. So when I decided to make her card I knew it had to be filled with lots of pink, texture and plenty of bling. I'm hoping I got that just right for her.

I absolutely love the new Number of Years stamp set. Water colouring is so fashionable at the moment and this set is right on trend. The numbers are a beautiful size, just right for cardmaking and scrapbooking and I'm totally in love with the banner that also has a coordinating framelit. Oh, didn't I mention there are framelits that match this set. No fussy cutting numbers for this little duck!

I made the background by stamping the number '6' over and over and then some of the flowers, on watercolour paper and then gently dropped water on them. As the colours spread, I used paper towel to soak up an excess water.

Of course, adding a strand of blushing bride sequins was a must, to finish the card off.

Now it's over to you!! Pop on over to the CYCI Blog, check out what gorgeous creations the other girls have come up with and have a go yourself. I look forward to see what you have made.

Botanical Builders - Thank You card

Squeal.... can you believe there are only a few hours left until you can order from the New Occasions catalogue and earn freebies from the Sale-a-Bration brochure?! I am honestly so excited for you. There is just so much to look through and I'm guessing those wishlists will be HUGE.

I thought I would share one more card with lots of sneak peek product, just to wet your appetite:

I'm totally loving how this card came together. I know I wanted to use the brilliant new framelits called Botanical Builders and I really can't get enough of the new Blushing Bride glimmer paper and, well, the rest just came together.
These framelits of course have a matching stamp set called Botanical Blooms but I really wanted to use this one particular flower which comes partial cut out. Simply gorgeous!

And can we say WOW on Pink Glimmer!! Who wouldn't love pink and glitter together.

So now it's over to you. What are YOU most looking forward to seeing, buying, getting in the new Occasions catty? And don't forget there are also the Sale-a-Bration freebies to be taken into account. Happy Shopping Crafters!

Can you case it? Challenges #101

http://canyoucaseit.com/

So I can finally reveal my super exciting news and which is I recently become one of the newest members of the Design Team for the Can You Case It? Challenge blog!!

I was absolutely thrilled when I was asked to join them this year and I really couldn't wait to get started with them all. The girls are an amazing mix of cardmakers and I just hope I can do the team justice with my weekly creations.

And talking of weekly creations here is my first Design Team challenge, which is a colour challenge:

http://canyoucaseit.com/

And here is my card, using Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

I decided to give my water colouring another go, as it's something I'm always working on lol. I choose to use another new stamp set from the Occasions Catty (Goes live in 2 days!!) called Birthday Blooms. I used my aqua painter and a little... and I mean a little, bit of Blackberry Bliss to colour in the gorgeous bloom. Man, a little of that colour can go a long way. I then chose Lost Lagoon as my "blue" because it has such a green undertone and teamed perfectly with the leaves.

Did you also notice a couple of other NEW goodies? The gorgeous glittery Pool Party ribbon, is simply Divine in real life. so soft and really catches the light. And we are now stocking Wink of Stella, which really adds a WOW to everything it touches. I had never used it before, but can see this is quickly going to become an addiction as I just want to add it to everything!!

To finish the card off, I added some of the splatter stamps from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake and then a few with gold embossing powder just to mix up the textures.

The overall card feels very glamorous and classy, so guessing it will have to be sent to a classy lady. Might make a great a Mother's Day card.

So I hope I've inspired you to take part in the Can You Case It? Challenge, this week. Jump on over to the blog, take a look at what the other talented DT's have come up with and upload you creations there!
