Can You Case It #128 Sketch Challenge - Sweet Cupcake

Gosh it's been a weekend full of sore throats and ear infections in my house. I'm still holding my own around the snotty noses and chesty coughs, though I have lost my voice, not that my family seem too sad about that!!

So it's been the perfect weekend for crafting and catching up on some belated #I'mbringingbirthdaysback cards for my Birthday Club. I'm still collecting dates from everyone, so please drop me an email with your birthday and I will get a card out to you.

It's also time for a sketch challenge over at Can You Case It this week and it's such a versatile one too:
I had an idea of what my card was going to look like as soon as I saw the sketch and I thought now was the perfect time to try out a technique that we saw at Onstage in April:

I love going to the Stampin' Up! Conventions or OnStage as it's called now, because we always learn such a lot of new techniques and are shown so many new ideas. Today I've used the Frosting technique that Sara Douglas demonstrated.

I've stamped the first two stamps from the three step cupcake stamps, in just normal ink - Pink Pirouette and Flirty Flamingo, but for the last stamp I made up a frosting mix, using Tombow, White Acrylic Paint, Corn Flour, water and reinker (Pink Pirouette). I placed my 3rd stamp into the frosting mixture and stamped it onto the cardstock. Leave it to dry for a few minutes and there you have, a textured paste that looks like real frosting. I even added a little bit of glitter while it was still wet. It's hard to see it in the photos, but it's such a fantastic effect.

So that's all from me today. I better get back to looking after the poorly family. I hope you all have a fantastic week and find some time to pop over and join us with this weeks challenge. It's honestly going to be a good one, I can already tell!!

Happy Crafting,
