Can You Case It #117 - Colour Challenge

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge with the Can You Case It team. This week we have a colour challenge, which at first I had no idea how I was going to do it:

Even though the colours are all fairly easy and as most of you will have noticed, I love to use a lot of black and white/cream in my cards usually, however Stampin' Up! didn't actually have a peach colour... Well that was until now!!

After attending Onstage last weekend and getting to see the new annual catty, we were also able to check out the new 2016-2018 In-colours and low and behold we have a new colour called Peekaboo Peach.
Now I don't actually have the new colours in my hot little hands just yet, but I did get hold of the in-colour markers and a few little pieces of cardstock, which was just enough to use as accent colours on my card this week.

 The main design of my card was really inspired by my own swap card that I made for Onstage, plus I was also curious to see if you could watercolour with the archival black, which it turns out, you can!

TGIF Challenge - Inspiration Challenge

Oh my goodness, with all the excitement of traveling to Sydney for Stampin' Up! OnStage, I almost forgot that it's time for a card from the TGIF guys. This week we have an inspirational thought and it's one that is so easy, I expect to see you all give it ago!

So what's a girl to do when the card is all about sparkle?!?! I literally just grabbed everything I could find and brought it to the table and then went crazy lol:

Now this card was actually made with a particular person in mind, who's one of my all time favourite Stampin' Up! Idols plus I remembered it was her birthday on Saturday, so I thought I'll be able to hand delivery this one in person. And because I adore this gorgeous girl I wanted to make something super special.

I actually used a technique that I saw Patty Bennett do a few weeks ago with the Fluttering Embossing Folder. I used the flourish from First Sight and stamped it over and over on the raised side of the embossed paper in Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand. It really gives such an effective finish, that Patty is so clever!!

Can You Case It #115 - Colour Challenge

Gosh, where is the time going at the moment?? I'm super busy with classes and getting ready for going to onstage next week and almost forgot it was time for another Can You Case It card. This week we have a colour challenge which was actually a little challenging lol!

I felt that the red and yellow were kind of a little too bold for my usual style and so I thought about what other shades Stampin' Up! has and decided on Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron:

I haven't used the Blended Bloom for so long and because it's one of the very few wood mount stamps that I have and it's actually kept in a separate area away from all my clear and Poly stamps, where I guess it gets a little forgotten about.

I really had no idea what I was going to do, but after pulling out everything I have in those colours I started having a play around. I love to fussy cut so thought laying the flower would be a great place to start and then everything else kind of came together.
