Festive Friday Challenge

Did someone say AWOL!!

Yes, I have been offline for what feels like forever. The kids and Hubby had all been sick for about 2 weeks solid and then I was super busy organising everything for the my new Catty launch .

But I do have some super news. I recently joined the Festive Friday Design Team... I know, how exciting!!! The Challenges can be found over on the super talented blog of Nicole Derendorf. Not only is she a fellow Stampin Up Demonstrator, but also an amazing card maker. So go and check out her blog here!!!

Now, I have been on the team for the past two weeks, but haven't posted any of my cards here.... AWOL I know. So I'll show you both my entries and then I'll be up to date and I can show you my new one, this coming Friday.

So, the first Festive Friday challenge was a Fathers Day card using brads. The first thing that came to mind were pinwheels. Three, to be exact.

I made each pin wheel a different size, to represent my three kiddies. I then had a brainwave to use my Simply Scored to score the "sticks" on.

I really loved this card, but unfortunately it never got to hubby. I took it outside to photograph and forgot to bring it back in...

No it wasn't the wind, but my doggy. She obviously didn't appreciate being left out. Thank goodness she didn't eat the brads!!

The next Festive Friday Challenge was a colour challenge. And I found this one sooo hard. We had to use Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard and Not Quite Navy!!

Now don't get me wrong. I hate the traditional Christmas colours of red and green, but this was so hard. Anyway, after much stamping and cutting. I actually came up with a card I'm really happy with.

The background is half stamped in Cherry Cobbler and half embossed in Iridescent Ice. I decided on using just a little of the non-christmassy colours and more on the Cherry Cobbler... I was also dying to use some of the Cherry Cobbler bakers twine too :-)

So, those are my two festive Friday cards so far. The next challenge is on Friday, so why don't you pop on over and join us. It's a great way to get some of your Christmas cards done early!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Christmas Candles

Low and behold, I manged to get all three children down for an afternoon sleep, which never happens and then they all slept for about 2 hours!! So while I had all this free time I decided to start on my kids teachers presents. A Stampin' Up friend of mine showed me how to stamp on candles using tissue paper and it looked like so much fun I couldn't wait to give it ago.

I also just recently brought off ebay the little Sizzix Scallop label die (don't you just love finding a bargain on ebay). I'm so in love with this little label and it finishes off the candles beautifully.

Oh and yes I did do a green and red candle. I like it, but have to say I don't 'love' it like the blue ones. Funnily enough everyone else prefers the "Christmas coloured" one lol.

Hugs,
Chlo
