Missing Mojo Monday - Jar of Love

It's Monday and so I thought we should have one more Missing Mojo post. Today I have my last tip on how to work through your creative block.

Now last time I talked about using our catalogues to look for inspiration and today I wanted to bring your attention to a little, probably unknown website called Pinterest!! Ok so that is a little tongue in cheek as I think everyone on the planet has at least heard of Pinterest, if not have there own boards. This website really has changed the way crafters, especially, interact and you can find inspiration for everything and anything.

So today I wanted to share a card that I CASED from pinterest. The original designer of the card is Ruby from Love2BeCreative, and I just loved her use of colours and design. You can see Ruby's amazing card HERE and here is my CASE:

Now even though I had planned to straight out CASE Ruby's design, I still ended up changing mine up a little. I changed my orientation from portrait to landscape, plus I decided to use a different sentiment too.

I guess that's the great thing about CASEing a card. Even when you plan to simply copy, you still add a little of your own personality to it!!

So, that's it for my Mojo Monday's. I really hope I gave you a few handful hints and tips, that will kick start your missing mojo. I know it has certainly helped find mine creativity again!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Missing Mojo Monday - Jar of Love

Welcome back to another Missing Mojo Monday Post.

So while the mojo is on holiday for an extended amount of time I obviously still have to get my craft on, even when I don't feel like it. I still have Design Team commitments and card classes to get organized for, so what do you do at these times. Well this is when I start digging through my current and old catalogues and look for inspiration or cards to CASE. CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything.

So the card on the left is from the Stampin' Up! catalogue and my card is the one below:

My Jar of Love set really hasn't seen as much love as it should have and I'm so glad to see it carry over to the new annual catalogue. So when I saw this little fishy card and thought, well that looks easy enough to CASE and even though I had planned to copy it completely, I still couldn't help changing it up just little.

So even thought my card is almost the same I don't find leaving white space that easy so on my card I embossed my background with our fantastic brick wall folder. I really love the effect that little folder has on a card.

And so there you had it. Another card made, just in time for a class too and do you know what? This was the card they loved most of all. Sometimes a smart design is better then a fancy one.

So Missing Mojo tip number 2 - Pull out your old catties and start having a look through. Maybe you can find a design that you like which you can change up the stamps sets or maybe you have the stamps and just want to CASE the original design. Either way you gotta just get creating!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Missing Mojo Monday - Crafting Forever

"My name is Chloe Evans and it has been 6 months since I last saw my Mojo"

And gosh it's been the longest 6 months ever. I've gotten by so far with using challenges and sketches but not one card I've created recently has come easy. And when I mention this to other crafters they all agree that missing mojo's are on the rise but no one seems to want to talk about it. Well not any more. I am going to be loud and proud about my mojo being MIA. I will not hide from it any more.

So I decide that today I'm going to stop stressing about my missing mojo and just craft. And not just craft but blog about it too. I'm going to blog the good, the bad and the down right ugly.

Monday's will now be known as Missing Mojo Monday or MMM for short and I'm kicking off with this shocker:

Ok so it's probably not the ugliest card I could have come up with, but it's certainly in the Bad category. My colouring is messing and I really had no idea which colours to use so just randomly picked them. Oh and can you see how wonky my sentiment is. I really did eye-ball that one!!

But the one thing I did like was the twine that looks like it's wrapped around the jar. Oh and my bow looks pretty tidy.

So there you go. My first MMM under my belt and you know what, I feel pleased with my crafting effort and think this might be the start of something beautifully. Let's all be proud of what we create... even the Ugly!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo
