Colour INKspiration 3rd Birthday Blog Hop - Painted Poppies

Wow, I can't believe the Colour INKspiration team are celebrating their third birthday today and I felt so honored to be asked back, as a past team member, to be part of the blog hop today.

If you've hopped here from the amazing Julia Quinn then welcome or if you have joined the hop from my blog, make sure you hop back and check out Julia's gorgeous creation. Her work is always beautiful!!

So Bronwyn allowed us to pick any colour combo I wanted and I was instantly going to go with a Crumb Cake and Coastal Cabana combo, but then I thought about which stamps I wanted to use and I really couldn't go past the gorgeous poppies. And so with that in mind, my colours for the hop today are, Poppy Parade, Black and Gold,

And here is the card that I created with those colours.

How beautiful is this poppy stamp! I can already tell, this whole suite; paper, stamps, dies and embellishments are going to be a huge seller. Plus the new scalloped stitched rectangles are a must have for absolutely everyone.

The sentiment is actually from a carryover set called Gather Together, and i thought the font and sentiment was perfect for this card.

So guys, a few important notes for you. You can enter as many times as you like and the challenge will run for a whole month over the summer ‘break’ until February the 10th. That gives you plenty of time to create something gorgeous, just like yourselves.

Now, seems the perfect time for you to hop on over and check out the next amazing card, which happens to be super talented and very dear friend Denita Wright-Smee. You are going to love what she has to share with you all.

Happy Crafting,

Colour Inkspiration #015 Colour Challenge - Fabulous Flamingo

Evening guys and welcome to another colour challenge with the Colour Inkspiration crew. Now It has been so long since I took part with the rest of the gang, but when I saw this weeks colours I was so excited. I just adore these colours and they look so stunning together.
So whether you have just hopped along from Julia Quinn's blog, who's card really is stunning or starting fresh with me, welcome!!

Even though you'll never see a flamingo in any of these colours, I still couldn't help using the the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. These stamps have been calling to me for a while and I knew this awesome colour challenge would be a perfect.
The flamingo stamp set is so funky and fresh, that I really think you could use any colour combo and they would look stunning.

After creating the whole card front, I realized that my flamingo's looked a bit odd without legs and so had to add them in after. The only problem I had was some of the legs would be stamped over the top of the other flamingo's faces and bodies. Not a good look. So this where masking comes in handy.

I stamped a flamingo body onto some scrap paper and cut around it as close as possible to the outline. I then taped that mask over the top of the flamingo who would have had legs stamped on him. This way, when I stamp on the legs, they stamp on the flamingo mask and when I move it away, it looks like the legs go behind the flamingo!!

https://lillylovespaper.blogspot.com/2017/08/ci15-intriguing-eggplant-doorway.htmlSo now it's time for you to hop on over and visit Elizabeth Gross's blog. I know her card is beautiful and you will just love it!! And then once you have hopped all the way along, I hope you will visit our Colour Inkspiration Facebook and play along with us there. We do look forward to seeing what you create.

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Colour INKspiration Blog Hop #02 - Birthday Blooms

Welcome Wednesday and to my first Blog Hop with the Colour INKspiration gang!!

The Colour INKspiration Crew are a group of talented Australian and NZ Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that create projects based on colour swatches, inspired by Pinterest.

So here’s the info - Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing a blog hop for each challenge.

The best news is, because this is a Facebook group you don't actually need a blog to play along. Just simply upload your photo to our Facebook page. Awesome right!

Right, so whether you've just popped in from Rose Packer's amazing creation or you are one of my regulars, a big hello to you all. Let's start with seeing what this weeks inspiration picture and colours actually are:
I have to admit these colours are right up my street and I really couldn't want to get started. Now I know the Succulents are all the rage at the moment and our So Succulent Bundle is literally flying of the shelves, I decided to go a different route and I dug out an old faithful, Birthday Blooms:
I wanted a softer look with my watercolour and embossing, so I actually heat set the stamped image in clear powder and took my time building up the depth of colour.

I added a bit of colour to my background but I have to say I'm not sure I added to it of not. It's one of those times, when you can't make up your mind to do something and I really should have gone away for a little bit and them come back before making the decision. Not to worry, I'm sure the recipient will still love the card. Sometimes we are our own worse critics.

Now it's time for you to continue the hop and head on over to check out Patrice Easton's gorgeous design. And remember to visit out fantastic FB page to see all the amazing creations and why not add yours while you're there!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo
