Embossing Paste - Happy Birthday Thinlit

I was just tidying up some of my computer files, when I came across a card that I had a made a little while ago and shared in Instagram but just realised I hadn't shared it here. So here it is:

It was a super quick card that I made after playing with the new Stampin' Up! embossing paste. This was my first go at using this awesome product and I was so impressed with how easier it was to make something, that my "scrap" piece of paper become my card front.

I had some spare Happy Birthday thinlits hanging around and so I decided to add that too and presto a card was born!!

If you guys haven't order this yet then you need to jump to it, it really does make your cards pop.

Onstage Display Cards Day 3 - Lift Me Up

Yeah it's Friday and day 3 of my Onstage Display samples. Today both cards are from the Lift Me Up stamp set and matching dies. The first one is a little more vintage then my usual style, but it's my Phileas Fogg card:

It's very soft and feminine and because I was looking for that 1700's vintage feel, I used Very Vanilla and added some sponging and stitching.

How much easier will it be to achieve that gorgeous stitching look with out new Stitched Framelits. I just checked my delivery and they should be here today... Squeal!!

The colours I've chosen for the balloons, Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Wisteria Wonder, are also some of my less favourite but they really work well together and I always like to be pushed outside of my comfort zone. It's like a little mini challenge.

Ok so on to my next one. This card couldn't be more different to my first one. It's so bold and bright and the colours really pop against the black die cut.

I just love the how you can layer cardstock or patterned paper behind this balloon and it really is easy to do. The panels fit perfectly, without them overlapping at all.

I decided to use clear embossing powder and heat set my floating balloons. I wanted them to be more for texture rather then visual and I think that worked perfectly. When you catch them in the light they really are shiny.

Lastly, my card needed a sentiment and I had no idea where it was going to go at first. After some thinking I decided to go for a bit of gold embossing on the main card. Now this is always scary to do, especially when you have the whole card put together already. But I do love to stamp on the edge and so I used my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig and it all came together perfectly.... Phew!!

Would you like your very own copy of the new Occasions Catalogue?? I actually received 5 copies at onstage as part of Prize Patrol and I've decided to offering them out to the first 5 people who place a $50 order through my online store. Onstage Display Cards Day 2 - Lift Me Up

Welcome back to day 2 of my share-fest. Today I'm sharing samples using the Lift Me Up stamp set and the matching framelits but only one of them is actually a card?!?

Let's start with the card first.
Now when I first received this set, I loved all the hot air balloons in the set. They are so vintage and reminded me of one of my favourite Jules Verne books, Around the world in 80 days.

I then opened up the framelits and I was instantly in love with this gorgeous, intricate hot air balloon die. Whats even more exciting, is that there are other dies in the set that look like a curved band and these are for cutting paper and layering behind the balloon, which is what I did for this card.

I used some scraps of the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP and layered them behind the black die cut. Those clever peeps over at head office really do think of everything!!

Ok, so now for the non card that I made. Once I had started cutting a few of the gorgeous balloon die cuts, I instantly knew it would make a fantastic mobile for a little boy's room and that's exactly what I did.
Gosh, this little stunner was hard to photograph. It would not stay still for a moment!! But I really was thrilled with how it turned out and I think it got a few "wow's" at Onstage too.

To make the balloons, I cut three from each colour and used the fine tip glue pen to stick them together. I threaded cotton through the middle and then added a few of the die cut Dazzling Diamonds clouds to the top and bottom. Finally finished it all off with a pair of silver bells at the end of the cotton. These make a gorgeous sound in the breeze and they also add a little bit of weight to the mobile.

Now if you would like your own copy of the new Occasions catalogue, then please send me an email with you postal address and come the middle of Dec I will pop on in the post for you. Australian address only.

Onstage Display cards Day 1 - Lift Me Up and Carousel Birthday

I really am thrilled to finally be able to share the two stamp sets that I received from Stampin' Up! for my Display stamper duties, Lift Me Up and Carousel Birthday. Both are absolutely gorgeous and I had so many idea on how to use them.

Each day this week, I'll share two samples from the 15 that I have created... ohh it's getting exciting now!!

First up, is a card using the gorgeous Lift Me Up stamp set and it's coordinating framelits:

Can I just say that this sentiment "Sending smiles across the miles" is going to be my most used sentiment ever. Of course I adore the sentiment itself, but the font and layout is just perfect. I literally swooned when I saw this sentiment!!

How cute is this card. The paper 'Cupcakes and Carousels' pairs perfectly with this stamp set and the colours are so fresh even though the patterns have such a vintage, retro feel to them.

I love all the little clouds and the balloons that have matching framelits. It makes my job super easy!!

Ok so my next design to share with you, is a card made using the other stamp set that I received which is the 'Carousel Birthday' set.

These two sets really do pair well together and I think you see that with the DSP and Embellishment kit. Anyway, here is my second card for today:

Out of all the samples I made, this was the one I just loved the most. It's so soft and girly and would be perfect for a little princesses birthday.

Now before you ask, no there isn't a framelit for the gorgeous little carousel horse. I did actually fussy cut it out. It really wasn't too hard and it does look fantastic on the card.

I used an aqua painter to colour in the horse, this time around but I'm pretty excited about out new watercolour pencils that are coming out in the catty too. They would be perfect for this sort of fine, detailed stamp.

Well that's it for me today. Make sure you check back in tomorrow for Day Two of the Sample reveal, as I have so much more to share with you yet!!
