Just Add Ink #371 Just Choose Two Challenge - No Bones About It

It's Friday and how exciting to be teetering on the edge of another weekend and for those of you in Australia, only 4 more weeks of winter to go!!!

Friday also brings something fun from the JAI team and today we have a super easy challenge which I hope you all take part in. We are doing our fun Just Add Two, so it could

I decided to just add Kids and Patterned paper and made a fun card for my youngest son who turned 6 last week. And what kind of card would any 6yr boy want?? a Dinosaur card of course!!

He was so thrilled to get his own special "Mum made it" card, that he took it to school the next day because Tuesday is his News day.

The watercolour background is some more smooching (I love this technique) and I added a few stamped leaves to match the little ones I had fussy cut.

I also smooched the background of the embossed dinosaur just to break up his image a little more. I finished it all off with a nice big copper foiled number 6.

So if you would like to join in with the team today or would just love some great idea's for childrens cards, then why not pop over to the JAI blog and take a peek. You wont regret it!!

Just Add Ink Blog Hop #343 - No Bones about It Pop-up Card

Well this is certainly start the year with a bang!! The team at JAI decided to kick off our 2017 of challenges with an EPIC blog hop and the theme is interactive/Pop-up cards!!

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/01/just-add-ink-343blog-hop.html

So if you are a regular visiting, then hello and welcome back, but if you've just hopped along from Rochelle Blok then a big warm welcome.

Wasn't Rochelle's creation amazing. She is seriously talented that girl. No wonder she was picked to be a Stampin' Up! Artisan!!

Ok so my card for the blog hop is actually a style I've been wanting to try for a while. I'm not big on interactive cards or fancy folds, but I really enjoyed making this one and I'm now thinking I might do a Fancy Fold Friday class or something. But enough about that, let me show you my card:

I don't really like making cards for no reason as otherwise I never seem to get anything made, but Mr.6 is having a birthday in a few weeks and I had planned to make him a card using the fantastic No Bones About It set. He absolutely loves receiving one of my cards and I always try to make it something different. Hence coordinating his card with this challenge.

I paired No Bones About It with some die cut leaves from the Botanical Builders framelits. The leafy patterned paper was actually made using one of the stamps from the set. I really love to make my own coordinating patterned paper, using stamps.

Hooray for Birthday Week - Day 3: No Bones About It

Wow, what a fantastic response I have had from my birthday celebrations. Thank you for all the orders, positive feedback and just the general sharing of everything. You guys really are awesome!!

I've changed pace a little today as my darling boys are having a fantastic run on birthday invitations. My eldest has received four this month and my youngest just received his first one ever. Talk about an exciting moment for him and me!

So, today's card was inspired by all the dinosaur cards I guess I will be making this month and let's face it, the No Bones About It stamp set is perfect for this type of thing:

Honestly, who can resist a dinosaur with a party hat!!

My birthday cards for the kids are usually kept pretty clean and simple. Not to many layers and for the the boys, no bling. But I think the little Gold Glimmer strip and matching banner just gives it the little finishing touch without being too OTT - pssst, did you notice the gold glimmer is on this weeks Weekly Deals??? Now is the perfect time to top up and grab it at a great discount too!

I love to make my own DSP and on this card I just restamped the dino's image over and over in versamark. The only thing you can't see in the photo (and I really did try to get a photo of it) is that my little dinosaur is heat embossed with glow-in-the-dark powder. Yep, it's honestly a thing and completely fantastic!!

Thank you so much for popping back each day and checking out my creations. And remember there are only a few days left of Sale-a-Bration and even fewer if you want to grab a little extra goodie by placing a $90* order during my birthday week (20th - 27th March). You also go into the draw to win all 7 cards that I am blogging this week. Pop over to my Store today!!
