JAI #344 Inspiration Challenge - Day at the Beach

Morning gang, wow what a week. I don't think I've been so busy with challenges and there is still one more post to come later on tonight. But it does feel great to be back in the craft closet are being so busy with the kids.

School holiday's really does keep me flat out but I'm lucky that my kids would do anything to get in my craftroom and play with my goodies.

Here is my daughter making some birthday cards for her friends, and yes she is in her swimmers. She said it was the only way to stay cool!!

So for today's challenge, we are hanging out with the JAI gang, who have a very seasonal photo to inspire us:
Now I did think I could have taken inspiration from the pool that the lady is sitting in and maybe make a project life page of our background pool with recently put in, but for some reason I just kept coming back to her hat and so I decided to go along that line.
I was really pleased with how this came out, and it was such a fun card to make. Oh and if you were wondering about the sizing, these are actually our awesome notecard sized cards.

I used the sun hat stamp from Day at the Beach as my ground images plus my main accent. The stamps from this set are all so much fun and very versatile. I can't wait to use them on upcoming holiday scrapbook pages.

I used my markers to colour in the sentiment in different colour (this trick is something I really love to do) It's such an easy technique but gives your sentiments a little bit more  wow.

Well now it's time for you to check out the other DT's creations and find some time to join us this week. As always I can't wait to see all of your creations!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Colour INKspiration Blog Hop #02 - Birthday Blooms

Welcome Wednesday and to my first Blog Hop with the Colour INKspiration gang!!

The Colour INKspiration Crew are a group of talented Australian and NZ Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that create projects based on colour swatches, inspired by Pinterest.

So here’s the info - Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing a blog hop for each challenge.

The best news is, because this is a Facebook group you don't actually need a blog to play along. Just simply upload your photo to our Facebook page. Awesome right!

Right, so whether you've just popped in from Rose Packer's amazing creation or you are one of my regulars, a big hello to you all. Let's start with seeing what this weeks inspiration picture and colours actually are:
I have to admit these colours are right up my street and I really couldn't want to get started. Now I know the Succulents are all the rage at the moment and our So Succulent Bundle is literally flying of the shelves, I decided to go a different route and I dug out an old faithful, Birthday Blooms:
I wanted a softer look with my watercolour and embossing, so I actually heat set the stamped image in clear powder and took my time building up the depth of colour.

I added a bit of colour to my background but I have to say I'm not sure I added to it of not. It's one of those times, when you can't make up your mind to do something and I really should have gone away for a little bit and them come back before making the decision. Not to worry, I'm sure the recipient will still love the card. Sometimes we are our own worse critics.

Now it's time for you to continue the hop and head on over to check out Patrice Easton's gorgeous design. And remember to visit out fantastic FB page to see all the amazing creations and why not add yours while you're there!!

The Closet Crafters Paper Share - 2017 Occasions Catalogue

My name is Chloe and I am a paper hoarder.

There, I said it and it does feels good to finally said it loud and proud. You see there is nothing wrong with loving pretty paper so much that you can't cut it up. I've actually been know to frame some paper that I just loved so much.

And because I understand this strange addiction, I am here to help others in the same situation. Every year I offer a paper share when the new Annual catalogue comes out, but to do my bit for humanity I've decided to also run one for the NEW Occasions catty too.
It's such a great way to get a good sample of all the papers without all the cost. Plus because they are 6"x6" in size, they are very easy to use up. Even the not so nice ones. Not that I've ever met a paper I didn't like!!

So what are you waiting for. Pop me an EMAIL and order your share today!!

Just Add Ink Blog Hop #343 - No Bones about It Pop-up Card

Well this is certainly start the year with a bang!! The team at JAI decided to kick off our 2017 of challenges with an EPIC blog hop and the theme is interactive/Pop-up cards!!

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/01/just-add-ink-343blog-hop.html

So if you are a regular visiting, then hello and welcome back, but if you've just hopped along from Rochelle Blok then a big warm welcome.

Wasn't Rochelle's creation amazing. She is seriously talented that girl. No wonder she was picked to be a Stampin' Up! Artisan!!

Ok so my card for the blog hop is actually a style I've been wanting to try for a while. I'm not big on interactive cards or fancy folds, but I really enjoyed making this one and I'm now thinking I might do a Fancy Fold Friday class or something. But enough about that, let me show you my card:

I don't really like making cards for no reason as otherwise I never seem to get anything made, but Mr.6 is having a birthday in a few weeks and I had planned to make him a card using the fantastic No Bones About It set. He absolutely loves receiving one of my cards and I always try to make it something different. Hence coordinating his card with this challenge.

I paired No Bones About It with some die cut leaves from the Botanical Builders framelits. The leafy patterned paper was actually made using one of the stamps from the set. I really love to make my own coordinating patterned paper, using stamps.
