Just Add Ink #365 Sketch Challenge - Message in a Bottle

Happy Friday gang. I've been a little quiet of late and that is because the kids, hubby and I have been busy enjoying the cooler days and the amazing outdoors that is the NSW. Last weekend, the Evanses set off over the mountains and visited our friends out at Gunnadeh. We honestly had the best time getting right back to nature.

We visited a few national parks, saw some waterfalls, made a campfire and roasted some marshmallows and of course had a barbie. Some times in the winter I like to hibernate and not venture to far but our no motto it to get out and spend more time connecting together.

But now back to today's post for Just Add Ink, which is a sketch challenge that the awesome Karren came up with.

I loved this sketch and I'm sure I'll be using it lots over the next coming weeks, that's for sure. I decided to open one of my new stamps called Message in a Bottle for my creation this week:

When I saw this stamp set in the catty I knew it had to have it and sure enough it was the first set I ordered. The sentiments and images are ideal for my kids, who just happen to love all things ocean themed.

I actually made this card for my daughter, for no reason but just because. I plan to pop it in the post and send it to her, as who doesn't love receiving happy mail!!

And if you are wondering how I made the "fish netting" behind the image, well surprise, surprise it is our new copper trim ribbon that I have stretched out. How awesome does it look!!

Well that it's for me today. I hope you guy's check out what the other demo's have been up to and don't forget to take part this week.

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Just Add Ink #363 Anniversary Challenge - Sunshine Wishes

I was so excited about this challenge today. This week at JAI, we have an Anniversary Challenge, which is lots of fun, but probably not super exciting. However this week is actually my 15th Wedding Anniversary!! Can you believe that?!? What are the odds, that we have an Anniversary Challenge, on my design team week, on my actual wedding anniversary week!! See, now you can see why I was so thrilled.

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/06/just-add-ink-363anniversary.html

And this is the card I made and will be giving to my hubby tonight, when he gets home.

Now I know there are a few retired things on this card, but sometimes they are just perfect for what you want and the sentiment from the Frosted Medallion stamp set was exactly the right size and font. Plus when I first saw this set, I always thought the phrases were really versatile and I was so sad that it retired before I could use it... until know that is.

How cool is this background too. The ombre look is still really popular and with our sponge brayers it's super easy to create. On this card I used Sweet Sugarplum and started off fairly lightly and added more ink as I got towards the end. The brayer really does make this effortless and you can just pop them off and wash them in warm soapy water.

Well thank you all for popping by. I'm off to wrap by hubby's anniversary gift and to write in his card. I hope you all find some time to pop on over to the JAI blog and also take part in the challenge too!!

Happy Craftng,
Chlo

TGIF #110 Colour Challenge - Happy birthday Gorgeous

Yippee it's Friday but man it's freezing in my neck of the woods. But you know what? My craftroom actually has heating and so today is the perfect day to spend in my warm cozy room. And so I have been busy crafting up a storm for this weeks colour challenge at TGIF.

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2017/05/tgifc110-color-challenge-bermuda-bay.html

Now, as I still had the Happy Birthday Gorgeous bundle out on my desk I thought I should have just one more play with it and this was what I came up with:

A nice, quick and easy one today. I really love how this "Happy Birthday" die stands out, no matter which colour you seem to cut it out. I think this die will get a lot of use this coming year that's for sure.

The patterned paper behind the die is actually something I made using the little flower stamps that are also in this set. I just stamped the same colour ink on the same colour cardstock and then used my trusty stitched framelit dies to cut out the squares. Easy and so effective!

So now it's time for you to tear yourself away from the new catalogue (gosh there is so much good stuff to look at) and take part in our challenge this week. I can't wait to see what you create!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo
