Rainbows and Love - Die Cut Fun

Happy Saturday guys. I hope you are enjoying this lovely weekend so far. I've been in the vegetable patch this morning and then spent a few hours cutting the grass and pruning the Mandarin tree. I love autumn days spent pottering in the garden.

Anyway today I wanted to share a card that was an inspired CASE that I saw while cruising through Instagram late last night.

The card I saw wasn't using any Stampin' Up! products, but I knew I could totally create the card with what I have in my craft room. I couldn't decided between using circles or squares so I did both!!

This card was just so much fun and so super easy too. It looks fancy but all I've done is nest different size circles or squares on top of each other, chopped them in half and then flipped out the colours. Easy peasy but very stunning.

These cards are very quick to make and are perfect for birthday cards for kids and teenagers. I know, I'll be making a few more to put into my card stash that's for sure!

I have used some of our retired word dies (I never let those go) but these cards would work with any of our chunky dies. Hint, Hint: there might be a new set of word dies coming up in the new annual catty and I for one can't wait to add those to my  collection!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow!!

Just Add Ink #371 Just Choose Two Challenge - No Bones About It

It's Friday and how exciting to be teetering on the edge of another weekend and for those of you in Australia, only 4 more weeks of winter to go!!!

Friday also brings something fun from the JAI team and today we have a super easy challenge which I hope you all take part in. We are doing our fun Just Add Two, so it could

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/08/just-add-ink-371just-choose-two.html

I decided to just add Kids and Patterned paper and made a fun card for my youngest son who turned 6 last week. And what kind of card would any 6yr boy want?? a Dinosaur card of course!!

He was so thrilled to get his own special "Mum made it" card, that he took it to school the next day because Tuesday is his News day.

The watercolour background is some more smooching (I love this technique) and I added a few stamped leaves to match the little ones I had fussy cut.

I also smooched the background of the embossed dinosaur just to break up his image a little more. I finished it all off with a nice big copper foiled number 6.

So if you would like to join in with the team today or would just love some great idea's for childrens cards, then why not pop over to the JAI blog and take a peek. You wont regret it!!

Just Add Ink #365 Sketch Challenge - Message in a Bottle

Happy Friday gang. I've been a little quiet of late and that is because the kids, hubby and I have been busy enjoying the cooler days and the amazing outdoors that is the NSW. Last weekend, the Evanses set off over the mountains and visited our friends out at Gunnadeh. We honestly had the best time getting right back to nature.

We visited a few national parks, saw some waterfalls, made a campfire and roasted some marshmallows and of course had a barbie. Some times in the winter I like to hibernate and not venture to far but our no motto it to get out and spend more time connecting together.

But now back to today's post for Just Add Ink, which is a sketch challenge that the awesome Karren came up with.
http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/06/just-add-ink-365sketch.html
I loved this sketch and I'm sure I'll be using it lots over the next coming weeks, that's for sure. I decided to open one of my new stamps called Message in a Bottle for my creation this week:

When I saw this stamp set in the catty I knew it had to have it and sure enough it was the first set I ordered. The sentiments and images are ideal for my kids, who just happen to love all things ocean themed.

I actually made this card for my daughter, for no reason but just because. I plan to pop it in the post and send it to her, as who doesn't love receiving happy mail!!

And if you are wondering how I made the "fish netting" behind the image, well surprise, surprise it is our new copper trim ribbon that I have stretched out. How awesome does it look!!

Well that it's for me today. I hope you guy's check out what the other demo's have been up to and don't forget to take part this week.

Happy Crafting,
Chlo
