Embossing Paste - Happy Birthday Thinlit

I was just tidying up some of my computer files, when I came across a card that I had a made a little while ago and shared in Instagram but just realised I hadn't shared it here. So here it is:

It was a super quick card that I made after playing with the new Stampin' Up! embossing paste. This was my first go at using this awesome product and I was so impressed with how easier it was to make something, that my "scrap" piece of paper become my card front.

I had some spare Happy Birthday thinlits hanging around and so I decided to add that too and presto a card was born!!

If you guys haven't order this yet then you need to jump to it, it really does make your cards pop.

Clear Block Watercolour Technique - Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Do you ever see a card or technique and just feel the need to drop everything you are doing and go off to make it? Well that is exactly what happened to me while I was surfing Pinterest the other day. I came across this amazing card by the super talented Julie DiMatteo from the Paper Pixie.

I had seen a few techniques of block stamping before and I have done a few myself, but the intense colours from Julie's technique was awesome and I couldn't wait to have a go. Here is my CASE of Julie's card:

Honestly, this technique is soooo much fun. I think I have made 30 cards this way and actually used this design as my RAK card for last month.

The colours that I used for this particular card were inspired my a poster that I had seen at the local are gallery the other week. I just love how each colour blends so well together but also pop's and sets of the next colour.

When you had over to Julie's blog you will see she has an awesome video tutorialon how to make this card, so make sure you check that out. I promise you, you might get messy, but it really is so much fun!!

Happy Birthday Bloky - Happy Birthday Gorgeous

This year I have been trying my hardest to actually send the cards I make. You would think this was easy but really, I just can't seem to get my act together. Anyway, I had this great idea that I would spend the first 2 days of each month just sending out all the cards I needed to send to everyone in that month. Even if it meant their card arrived three weeks early.

So one of my dear friends and fellow demo Rochelle Blok, had a birthday on 6th June. Now I couldn't just send any of the 100 premade cards I had sitting in my box. No, I had to send her something new, which of course meant it took me more time and thus meaning it arrived a few day's late... Sorry about that Bloky!! Anyway this was the card that I eventually sent to Rochelle:

OMG I really do love this stamp set. It's so much fun to play with and also just stamps beautifully. Of course you would be silly not to buy the matching "Happy Birthday" framelit with it, so the bundle is a must!!

Now I really have to say how much I just love these colours together. They wouldn't be what I would have picked to start with, but I was packing away some other items on my desk and just happened to stack these colour together to put away. When I saw them I thought, Ohhh I like the look of those together.

I actually borrowed this set from my friend Kim, and I think I've used it so much that I will now have to keep this set and buy my friend a new one. I hate borrowing stamps and then giving them back used. Kim always say's she doesn't mind as it makes her feel like she was part of my inspiration and creation... Gosh I adore that girl!!

So if you had been wondering about this stamp set, all I can say is go out and buy it. You really won't regret it plus when you purchase it this month you'll also earn yourself some of the Bonus Day vouchers. It's really win win!!

Just Add Ink #365 Sketch Challenge - Message in a Bottle

Happy Friday gang. I've been a little quiet of late and that is because the kids, hubby and I have been busy enjoying the cooler days and the amazing outdoors that is the NSW. Last weekend, the Evanses set off over the mountains and visited our friends out at Gunnadeh. We honestly had the best time getting right back to nature.

We visited a few national parks, saw some waterfalls, made a campfire and roasted some marshmallows and of course had a barbie. Some times in the winter I like to hibernate and not venture to far but our no motto it to get out and spend more time connecting together.

But now back to today's post for Just Add Ink, which is a sketch challenge that the awesome Karren came up with.
http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/06/just-add-ink-365sketch.html
I loved this sketch and I'm sure I'll be using it lots over the next coming weeks, that's for sure. I decided to open one of my new stamps called Message in a Bottle for my creation this week:

When I saw this stamp set in the catty I knew it had to have it and sure enough it was the first set I ordered. The sentiments and images are ideal for my kids, who just happen to love all things ocean themed.

I actually made this card for my daughter, for no reason but just because. I plan to pop it in the post and send it to her, as who doesn't love receiving happy mail!!

And if you are wondering how I made the "fish netting" behind the image, well surprise, surprise it is our new copper trim ribbon that I have stretched out. How awesome does it look!!

Well that it's for me today. I hope you guy's check out what the other demo's have been up to and don't forget to take part this week.
