Happy Fri YAY everyone. We, at Just Add Ink, are all about cake this week.
I was so excited about this weeks challenge as it meant I got to play with a new stamp set that has been in the Annual catalogue and on my wish list since June and I finally got around to ordering it.
I really love the Happiest of Days stamp set and the sentiments could be used for either birthdays or weddings.
How cute it that little cake too! I got to colour it in with my new Stampin' Blends (available on 1st November) and I just love how easy it was to do. These Blends are a heap of fun and I'm sure you are all going to love them as much as I do.
So thank you for dropping by today. I really do hope that you all take part this week as I think there is going to be heaps of inspiration shared around with this weeks challenge!!
Happy Friday people and welcome to another Just Add Ink Challenge, where this week we need to just choose two of the following things to add to you card: Embossing Paste, Colouring or Sequins.
I decided to go down the colouring road and of course adding sequins is always a given!!
I just adore this little girl in the Birthday Delivery stamp set and I kind of think she looks a little like me when I was a child. I think it's the curly hair.
I used my aqua painter to watercolour my image today and I really do think the more you practise the better you get at watercolouring and I think this might be my best one to date. It certainly made me feel like watercolouring a few more of the images in the set. The poodle has been calling my name for a while.
I hope you find some time this weekend to join in with us and get a little crafty. I know myself and the rest of the girls love seeing what you all make!!
So for those who follow me on Instagram of my Facebook page would have seen me share this special card that I made last weekend.
This type of card is called a Poppin' Box card. The card it's self starts out about 1cm wide and when you open it up a box pops out of it. It's so clever and usually make the receiver jump!!
There are a few tutorials for this type of card and some of them are super hard to understand, but I used a tutorial I found on Gemma Clark's Blog, how made it seem to simple and easy. Thank you Gemma!!
I decided to make a Christmas version of the Poppin Box, using the Snowflake Sentiment stamp set and the gorgeous Cheer to the Year designer series paper. I even made my own video tutorial for you all, as I think everyone should have a go making them. They may look scary but really are pretty straight forward.
How cool is that!! You really need to watch the tutorial to see how this awesome card works, as it's impossible to show with just photos. I have also included all the cut and score measurements for you too
Well that's it from me this weekend. I hope you are all enjoying the World Cardmaking Day celebrations. The Stampin' Up specials are still on until 10th Oct so you still have time to take advantage of 15% off selected stamp sets.
And if that was exciting enough, my October special: spend $45 and earn a free pot of either Metallic or iridescent sequins. So hope on over to the SHOP today!!
