A little something for Mum

Today's card I made especially for my Mum. Not for any particular reason, other then that I miss her and I know how much she loves receiving my cards.

She doesn't live here in Australia, in fact none of our family does. She actually lives 6 months of the year in India and then the other 6 months is spent all over the UK and Europe. She's a bit of a jet setter. In fact I haven't seen her in almost two years and I can't wait for her to come out and visit this April. I've already started counting down the days.

So here is the special card, for my lovely Mum:

I used more of that beautiful DSP that will be FREE in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue. Honestly, it's so gorgeous I've already started to hoard it! And the lattice die cut frame is actually from the Simply Sent card kit, called Simply Fabulous.

The stamps are from " Love You More" set which is only available for a few more weeks (27th Jan to be exact) Don't miss out on getting yourself some of these gorgeous stamps.

So my card is winging it's way to my Mum as we speak. Hopefully the post in India is all up to date and she should receive it soon. I always think it's so lovely to receive happy "for no reason at all" mail, I might just do it more often!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Love You More

As soon as I saw the sentiment in the new "Whole lot of Love" promotion stamps, I knew this was the set for me.

In my house we say "Love YOU more" all the time to each other, so of course it was a no brainer that I would have to get it. Of course I would NEED it lol. But I also loved the little globe, the arrows and the little bird too (which I used on my Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card). I knew the little globe would look gorgeous in a circle thinlit card and I was totally right!! Here is my card closed...

And now opened...

Man I love these Thinlit cards. They really turn a great card into an amazing card with very little effort.

I heat embossed "Love you More" with whisper white powder as I really wanted the sentiment to "pop" off the page. I also remembered to punch out a heart and add some red Glimmer paper behind it before sticking the DSP down.

The globe stamp actually has this phrase attached to it, but I used a little of my trusty masking tape to cover it which prevented me from inking it up when I was stamping the globe. I then did the same thing again, but covered up the globe when i inked the sentiment for my "inside" message.

Of course I had to add a little bit of bling, so decided to finish it off with one of the Frosted Embellishments that are in the current Holiday Catty. They are sooo sparkly in real life and can be used for anytime, not just for Christmas.

Now the only problem I have, is that I love this card so much I don't want to give it away!!!

Have fun,
Chlo

Let the Sneak Peeks begin and FMS117

Well I think my Mojo left with our Christmas Elf Sparkles, as I really haven't found the motivation to make anything this week. I have all this free time as Hubby is on holidays at the moment, so it gives me some child free time and I just can't face going into my scraproom.

Do you ever feel like that? Well I have three fail safe ways to get the juices flowing, the mojo moving and today I am going to share them with you!!

1) Clean up your scraproom. Yep I know it's not the best job, but I always find having everything put away, the tables cleaned down and the room ready to go, I always want to stay and start creating straight away. And hey if it doesn't work, no worries, you room is ready when you are!!

2) Make or buy something inspiring, pretty or beautiful for your craft room. This tip i think falls into the Retail Therapy section. I want my room to not only inspire me but also entice me in. Sometimes I will just sit and look at everything lol.

3) Ok this one is an oldie but a goodie. Pick a Challenge! Yep that's it. I know it sounds simple, but honestly it works. And this is the tip I used to inspire my card today.

I popped on over to Freshly Made Sketches and decided that the Sketch Challenge they had on today, would be perfect for me, easy and simple.
Honestly, how can you go wrong with that layout lol. So here is my take:

Pretty cute hey!! Ok so some of you will notice I am using one of the stamp sets in our new Valentine Promotion 'Love you More'. This set is so gorgeous and perfect for V'day. Oh and I can hear you asking about what is the DSP I've used... yep, well that is my SAB (Sale-A-Bration) sneak peek for today. It is one of the Free products you can earn during Sale-A-Bration. Honestly, it's even more gorgeous in real life!!

And did you notice I also add a bit of dimension to my little arrow by bending it in the middle slightly. Hopefully you can see it more clearly in this photo:

So there you go, I hope these helpful hints give your mojo a little nudge when you need it. And why not pop on over to Freshly Made Sketches and have ago yourself. The link is open until January 6th, so you have plenty of time!!

Have Fun,
Chlo
