One Happy Mummy

Today's card is one that I made especially for a workshop that I had a few weeks ago. My lovely hostess, Michelle, really wanted a a shabby chic kind of card. Now anyone who knows me, knows that my style is more clean, simple and balanced... so the complete opposite lol.

Well I tried my best, I did some research and came up with this little number. Thankfully Michelle and her friends were all very lovely and said how much they loved the card... I think I believe them :-)

I actually used four different stamp sets for this one, but they all seemed to go lovely together.

Isn't the little hummingbird gorgeous. He comes from the set called Elements of style, and he just stamps so beautifully. I have also used the large French Script background stamp. This is my new and favorite stamp set at the moment. I'm really looking forward to using it on my candles this year.

Now I know this one says "Happy Birthday" but I did make another one, in Riding Hood Red and sent it to my Mother In Law for mothers day (Mothers day is the last Sunday in March in the UK). But still to this day she hasn't received it. I have no idea where it's gone and wonder if the postage wasn't enough and maybe it's got held up somewhere... or maybe the postal worker liked it so much, they kept it to send to their own mother!!

So I just wanted to say to Val... Happy Mothers day and so sorry it hasn't arrived yet!!!

Have fun,
Chlo

Birthday Card Swap

I'm a big fan of birthdays, especially mine lol. But this year it was even better, as I had signed up to a Birthday Card Swap using Stampin' Up items with fellow demonstrators. The idea is to send a birthday card to everyone in your group and when it's your turn, you end up with 10 - 20 handmade birthday cards. Who doesn't love seeing the postman when he's bringing happy mail!!

So my birthday was last week, and I really wanted to share all the beautiful cards that I received. I have tried to link blogs to as many people who have them, but just drop me a little note if I've missed you and I would love to link it back.

The first thank you goes to Sarah for this gorgeous card. Loving the faux suede effect.

This is from Sue. When you pull the tag the tiles flip back and reveal a birthday message... very clever, Thanks Sue!!

A bright bold card from Alisa. Loving this colour combinations!!! Thank you Alisa.

Jody sent this one to me. Gotta love the new Edgelit dies. Thanks Jody!!

One of my besties Amy made this one. And she actually let me keep it which makes a change, as she never wants to give them away.
Thank you also to Amanda. Black and orange have to be my new fav combination and who doesn't love the embosslit butterflies.

Another card from a great friend. Love all the different patterned circles... this is a card that really needs CASING. Thank you Jeanette!!

So sorry Margie, but the photo doesn't do this card justice. 4 different patterned paper, embossed with 4 different folders. the card is such a beautiful pale pink. Thank you for such a soft, delicate card.

Another thank you goes to Angie for this gorgeous card. This is my next stamp set to get, with of course, the matching punch. Love how Angie has embossed the flower, it really makes it pop!!

This card is soo sparkly. I just wish you could see it in the photo. Thanks so much Lesley for making it for me, it's my daughters favorite!!

Thank you Rochelle for this beautiful card with so many new products on it. Doesn't the green pleated ribbon look great around the framelit die.

These next two came from my good mate Tracey. I'm not sure which one I like best. I'm so in love with the cute little owls but I'm also head over heels for the butterflies. Both cards are gorgeous, Thanks Trace.

Wow, the flowers on this card are wonderful. Thank you Tara for taking the time to make this for me!!

And finally, this amazing punch art card with the gorgeous pop up butterfly inside from Lorrae. Thank you so much Lorrae, it must have taken you ages to make.

I was so overwhelmed by all the beautiful cards and they have given me heaps of great ideas for my own cards. Some of them have even made me buy some extra products... not that, that is too difficult lol.

Thanks for stopping by,
Chlo
