Class Sneak Peek

So I have a huge Stampin Up party this weekend, which I have been busy organising something amazing for the hostess and all of her friends to make, but I also took some time to get the cards for my up coming class done too.

Now I can't show you all of the cards for class, but I did want to share just one with you all... to wet your appetite so to speak!!

I saw this card made for one of the girls at Stampin' Up Head quarters and it gave me the idea for my card.

On the other card, they had put the ladies name on the banner, but i suddenly realised that it's mothers Day in the UK this weekend and thought this would be a great card to send over to my Mummy.

Don't you just loves those gorgeous new Hearts a Flutter stamps and matching Framelits. I have so many more projects to share with you, using this set. It's super versatile!!

Anyway, I couldn't use this card for this months class, as Mothers days in Australia isn't until May. So I then wondered whether I could make the card fit 6 banners across it...

So it turns out that, Yep, you can lol. It's also such an awesome way to use up scraps of DSP too.

So if you guys want to come along and make this card as well as two others, then drop me an EMAIL and book into class. For more information on my classes, just click HERE!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Hoot Loves you...

I'm more then happy to admit, I'm must be the last Stampin' Up Demonstrator to have fallen in love with the Owl punch. Why has it taken me so long to try it out, I don't know, but now I think I've found a new addiction. This little fellow is so much fun. I actually borrowed the punch from my BFF and I'm now I'm waiting to get my hands on my own one.

I love the fact that you can add a few accessories to make the little owls suit whatever type of card it is. These two are also showing off my new love for Easel Cards. Yes, yet again I am late on finding this great card technique... i think I've been hiding under a HUGE rock lately !!!

This is for one of my favorite fellow SU demos Rochelle Blok. We are both on a Birthday card swap together (you can see the cards I received here) and her birthday is in June. Now I know what you're going to say, the card says " Birthday wishes (a little bit late!)" and I'm super early. Well I have to confess I thought I had missed it already... Like I said I have been under an ENORMOUS rock lately lol.

I'll make another one for Rochelle, but I'll change around the colours and patterned paper a little and with a more fitting saying!!!

Now this one came about after I had punched out the Patterned paper for the Owls bellies. I just used two pieces of random scrapes from the Spice Cake paper (super sad this patterned paper retired as I would have loved more of it), and when I looked at it, I immediately thought that one looked like a waistcoat and the other a little summer dress... ok so maybe you can't see it, but the inspiration from that hit me and I thought "Hey, they make a lovely little married couple!!!

And THIS is what I love most about the Owls. I just added a few rhinestones to Mrs Owl and made a little top hat out of some card stock for Mr Owl and they have turned into a super cute wedding card!! You'll also notice I added some party hats (or tiny scrap triangles lol) to the birthday card and it finished the design. How easy is that !!!

Mr and Mrs Owl are off to yet another swap group I'm part off called Stampin' Up Card Swap. It's a Facebook page where anyone can join to take part. You just send one card off each month and in return you will receive a card. the swap is international so your card could go or come from anywhere in the world. It's really good fun and I have been on it for a few months now. And you can send any type of card. So why not "like" the page and take part. You never know, your next card might come from yours truly!!!

Oh and if you like the Patterned Paper I've used, don't forget that for the whole month of May Stampin' Up have the Paper Party happening. For every 3 packs of Patterned Paper you buy you get another for for FREE... Just think of how may owls I could make with all of that!!! To find out more click here!!

Have fun,
Chlo

One Happy Mummy

Today's card is one that I made especially for a workshop that I had a few weeks ago. My lovely hostess, Michelle, really wanted a a shabby chic kind of card. Now anyone who knows me, knows that my style is more clean, simple and balanced... so the complete opposite lol.

Well I tried my best, I did some research and came up with this little number. Thankfully Michelle and her friends were all very lovely and said how much they loved the card... I think I believe them :-)

I actually used four different stamp sets for this one, but they all seemed to go lovely together.

Isn't the little hummingbird gorgeous. He comes from the set called Elements of style, and he just stamps so beautifully. I have also used the large French Script background stamp. This is my new and favorite stamp set at the moment. I'm really looking forward to using it on my candles this year.

Now I know this one says "Happy Birthday" but I did make another one, in Riding Hood Red and sent it to my Mother In Law for mothers day (Mothers day is the last Sunday in March in the UK). But still to this day she hasn't received it. I have no idea where it's gone and wonder if the postage wasn't enough and maybe it's got held up somewhere... or maybe the postal worker liked it so much, they kept it to send to their own mother!!

So I just wanted to say to Val... Happy Mothers day and so sorry it hasn't arrived yet!!!

Have fun,
Chlo

Love a simple card

I wanted to take some cards to my Stampin' Up workshops to demonstrate how all the products work so beautifully together.

I really love the Button Buddies stamp set. It can be used for some many different occasions and I think it's a great first stamp set. These colours all come from the Bright colour family, but I made the exact same in the subtles and they were just as good. I guess you just have to decide on whether the person receiving the card is a bright or subtle person lol. The sayings all came from the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes. Another must have set and can be yours for free... who could ask for anything more!!!

Have a Fun Day,
Chlo

Yes... another male card!!!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It's nice to know I'm not the only one out there who finds male cards so hard.

But surprise, surprise I have made another one today!!!

This card came together really quickly, I think is was finished within about 20 mins... Gotta love that!!

I got the idea from a Pinterest board called stamp it with jen. they used pinks and reds on their card, but I thought the layout would be perfect for a male card.

Also wanted to say that I had never been on Pinterest before, but after realising some of my work had been pinned and repinned and repinned again (I felt quite honoured about that) I took a look and OMG there is so much going on over there. My quick look turned into about an hour!! So if you haven't visited before go and take a look, but make sure you have plenty of time because you'll need it!!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Why are male cards so hard???

Is it just me, or does anyone else out in the bloggy world have the same problem. It doesn't matter whether they are young boys, teenagers or for Dads and Grandpa's. I never have the slightest clue. I always end up using my star cutters and some sort of blue, green, red, brown or orange combination.

This card today is no different. My father in law turned 60 at the weekend and I wanted to make an extra special card for him. I have to admit, it came out better then I anticipated, but I'm still not wowed by it... Hopefully he is!!!

So any suggestions for male cards would be much appreciated!!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Gift Card Holders

So yesterday I spent a couple of hours making up these lovely little Gift Card holders for the market stall I'm hoping to run next month.

I made mostly "New Baby" holders as the market is a Mums and Bubs market, but I did do a few Birthday ones and I think I'll also make a couple of plain ones so people can use them for any occasion.

They were so quick and easy to make and I used mostly scraps of patterned paper and cardstock. I just hope the people at the market like them as much as I do!!

Have fun,
Chlo

Saturday Midnight Stamping

My girlfriends and I usually get together every Friday to scrap, whether it's cards or page layouts, but this Friday we all had lots on and didn't get together. This nearly never happens. I think we have only cancelled 4 Fridays this year!

So instead we got together last night and invited another friend, Amy, who has only just started getting into card making after attending a Stampin' Up party. She's being converted!!

I think we finally called it a night just after midnight!!! I really couldn't believe the time. We were all enjoying it so much that none of us wanted to pack up, but considering Amy had a long drive home and Tracey and I have tiny babies to look after we thought it was time to call it a night.

Anyway, I've made so many Christmas cards lately, that I fancied making something different.

I had seen this gorgeous card design on Patty (or LaLatty as she's known on Splitcoasters) blog and knew I had to give it a try. I've changed it up, but only a little. I gave my Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery a Scallop border and also ran the whole card through the Bigshot (I'm so addicted to bobbling everything) but other then that it's pretty close to the original.

I borrowed the stamp set, Flower Fest, from a friend and after using it last night I can tell you it's most definitely going on my "Most Wanted" list. Every stamp I did came out perfectly, no missing bits, no double images. Just perfect and crisp. I'm totally in love!!!

Hugs and Merry Christmas,
Chlo

Please baby, go to sleep...

It's now 10.21pm and my 4 month old is still refusing to go to sleep. He's usually such a good little sleeper and I only generally get up once or twice a night for a feed, but tonight, he has other plans for me. So while I sit here hoping that THIS time I've calmed him down enough that he'll go off to sleep, I though I would share a new card that I made this weekend. Hold that thought, baby's calling...

... 10 mins later and baby is asleep... Hopefully!

Right, where was I?? Oh yes the cute little card I made. Yet again, it's using Stampin' Ups Button Buddies stamp set. But this time I'm using the lovely flower from the set. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but everyone that I've spoken to has said that the flower was the original reason for buying this set (like any of us need a real reason to buy yummy craft items lol!!!). I have to say I adore this stamp. Not only does it stamp beautifully every time but Stampin Ups 1-3/4 Scallop punch fits the stamp perfectly... All very handy!

I ended up making a couple of these cards in different colours, but have to say this was my favourite colour combo by far... very sunny!!!

Hugs,
Chlo
