Blended Blossom and Blendabilities

So since getting back from the Stampin' Up South Pacific Convention, or Inspire, Create, Share as it's now called, I have been brimming with new ideas, inspiration and so much craftyness there just hasn't been enough hours in the day!!

One of the freebies we brought back with us (and we brought back heaps of goodies!!) was a new stamp set called Blended Blossom and we were given a pack of the new blendabilites to use with it. The colour we got was Calypso Coral.

Ok so I'm going to state right here that colouring just isn't my thing. Honestly, even as a child I was a terrible colouring in'er... umm not sure if it's a word but lets go with it.

My first go with our new Blendabilities and I couldn't believe how easy it was to make the flower look 3D. I used the darker shade pen on all the parts of the flower that I thought would be dark or in the shade in real life. Then I edged some of those areas with the middle tone and finally "blended" everything with the lightest shade. So here it is:

Not bad for a first time. Now as much as I enjoyed colouring this flower, I'm still not convinced that this will be my "thing", BUT, and that's a big but. With our Blendabilities you can colour pretty much anything. Pearls, Rhinestones, Washi Tape, ribbon honestly the list goes on. Thats how I got my matching rhinestones on my card.

Now I guess you are wondering when YOU can get your hands on these little babies. Well at the moment we are hoping they will be ready for when the new Annual Catalogue goes live on 1st July, but it's a case of wait and see for the moment. Fingers crossed everything is ready in time.

Hope you get some craft on this long weekend, I know I plan too ;-)

Have Fun,
Chlo
