Can You Case It #131 Colour Challenge and GDP #046 - Baby Bear

I'm totally loving our new colour challenge at Can You Case It this week. These are some of my favorite colours  and I also decided to tie my card in with a beautiful sketch challenge that the Global Design Project has running this week too.

Here is the Can You Case It colour challenge:

And finally here is my card!!

Being a swim teacher and working with lots of the mum's and bub classes I see lots of mum's going off to have babies and I thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a little bundle of cards in the office that we could give to the new mum's!! So I decided that Baby Bear would be perfect for that type of card and our colour challenge would work really well too.

I just love this little guy and it doesn't seem to matter which colour you make him, he is always gorgeous.

It's hard to see in this photo, but on all of his little black patches of fur, I have added a touch of wink just to make him that little bit extra special. He's pretty sparkly when he catches the light!!

Well that's it for me. Don't forget to stop by my store to purchases any of the items that you have seen me use today and when you pop over to the CYCI blog, make sure you click on the link to be able to subscribe to our blog, so you never miss out on a challenge again!!

Awesomely Artistic meets Layering Love.

I need a super quick and beautiful card the other day and my mind just went blank. Honestly, I couldn't come up with anything and so I had a quick look on Pinterest... who am I kidding, I was on it for hours lol, and I cam across this gorgeous card by Susanne Netz over at SuNN Stampin' and instantly fell in love.

I changed up the colours as I had been wanting to pair these three colours up together for a while and decided to use this sentiment from Layering Love as it's one of my favourites

It is a stunning card and it seriously took me all of 10 minutes to cut, stamp and stick together. That's just the type of card I needed today so thank you Susanne!

Aren't these colour beautiful together!! I found this colour inspiration while cleaning up my Craftroom and stacking all my ink pads together. These three, Pool Party, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant were on top of each other and I thought WOW that would make a gorgeous card!!

Well, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Make sure you pop back on Sunday to check out my card for the Can You Case It team, we have a fantastic challenge coming up this week and you wont want to miss out!!

Christmas in July - Best Birds

As soon as I saw the Best Birds stamp set in the new catalogue at the Stampin' Up! Onstage Convention I just knew I had to make one of the little birds into a Robin. Well it's been a few weeks since I've had this gorgeous set and I have used it for lots of beautiful cards, but still hadn't got to my original idea of that little robin.

Then over the weekend, while brushing my teeth I had this sudden thought pop into my head, what about a red glimmer robin breast??? And so today, after I got all my "Mum" jobs done, I crept into my craft room and got making:

I have to say, I think he looks fantastic with his little red glimmer chest. I water coloured the rest of the Robin in crumb cake and added some gold Wink of Stella to his little beak.

The holly image is from the Hostess set called Time of Year and I coloured it in using my Stampin' Up! markers plus a little bit of fussy cutting. I also added a few little pearls that I had coloured in with my red sharpie, to make them look more like berries.

The sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamps and matching framelits that carried over from last years Christmas catalogue. I'm so glad this little set stuck around for another year as I just adore the font of the greetings.

Well there you go. My very first Christmas card for the year. I think I might make a few more of these cards while my supplies are all set up and get a head start on my Christmas cards this year. After all, it always seems quicker to make four cards the same then it is to make the first one!!

Can You Case It #130 - Grateful Bunch and Layering Love

Welcome back to another challenge from the team at Can You Case It. This week we have two super fun sketches and everyone can join in the fun this time around:

So you can either used the sketch photo as your inspiration or just make a Birthday Card. I decided to make a birthday card but using the sketch as my inspiration. Best of both worlds, and here is my card:

I'm such a sucker for a bit of water colouring and black embossing powder. I love how the embossed sentiment really pops of the card against the gorgeous ombre wash.

I have used lots of our blues and greens for this card, including our two newest colours, Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim and they are just gentle blended together with my trust Aqua painter.

I stamped the butterfly from the Grateful Bunch stamp set and then layered heaps of Wink of Stella on him. These little guys are super sparkly!! I added a few sequins around the card to tie in the dots that are in the sketch and they also finished my card off perfectly.

So now it's your turn and I can't wait to see which of the two ideas you decided to do. Oh and don't forget to leave some blog love to the rest of the team, we always love hearing from you all!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo
