Global Design Project 200 - Piece of Cake

What an amazing milestone to have hit and celebrate. Huge congratulations to all the talented crafters over at the Global Design Project, for hitting their 200th Challenge. That is pretty amazing. And to celebrate, this week we Casing the Designer which is the awesome Janneke De Jong.

I kept my card pretty close to the original design because I love Janneke's work and how can you improve on perfection!

I'm really pleased how the blended strip came out and have to admit I did create a few different colours, some I'm sure you'll see on my up coming cards. And it's so simple to do too. You will need some masking tape or painters tape and I've been using make up brushes to do my blending as I find they really help to get a nice even layer. Maybe I should do a video to demonstrate... hmmm food for thought.

It's hard to see on the male version of the card but the end of the blended strip is actually using gold metallic Encore ink. I miss using these gorgeous inks but the good news is there is something similar in the NEW Holiday catty, so it made me dig my old ones out for a bit of a play. I also added some metallic frost shimmer paint as a subtle splatter.

The blends got a work out, colouring the cute little cakes and I do love that we have a coordinating punch, so I only had to fussy cut the candles.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to check out the Global Design Project design teams cards, as t
hey are gorgeous!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Global Design Project 199 - It Starts With Art

I was cruising the net for inspiration when I cam e across the Global Design Project which is all about Paper, scissors, inks, stamps... Craft. Perfect I thought, then I saw that this card had to be in within the next 45 minutes!!!
So luckily for me I already had these bits and pieces sitting on my desk just waiting for a card to go on and so I got stuck in:

I'm pretty happy with how they came out. I've used one of our NEW embossing folders 'Bricks and Mortar' and I can really see myself using it heaps in the future.

Also how perfect is this stamp set for making welcome cards to send to all of my new team members. Did you know there is a awesome joining promotion happening at the moment? It's called the Extra Extra Special.

When you join my stamping family during now until 31st Aug, you can choose an extra $45 in product with your starter kit. Yep that's right, for $169 you can now choose $280 worth of goodies. Plus Stampin' Up! will email you a $16 coupon to put towards your first demo order in the following month. Isn't that cool! So if this is something you have been thinking about, please pop on over to my Join Me page and check it out.

So, I'm guessing you are all wondering if I got this linked to the design team in time? Well the answer is no. I missed it by 5 seconds !! Oh well, I'll make sure I check in with those guys a little bit earlier next time!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Global Design Project #054 Sketch Challenge - Tin of Tags

I finally found some crafting time in my schedule this week and decided to tackle a card using the new sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project.
http://www.global-design-project.com/2016/09/global-design-project-054-sketch.html
I just love sketch challenges and this one was so easy to do and I just adore the card I came up with. And what's even more exciting, is that I have now ticked off yet another Christmas card for the family. I might actually get them sent ahead of schedule this year!

How gorgeous is the DSP on this card!! The paper is from the Presents and Pinecones DSP and I just adore the mix of Emerald Envy and Mint Macaroon together.

The sentiment on the banner is actually from the Tin of  Tags stamp set, along with the snowflake that I stamped all over the background.

This card really was super fast to make and I think you could make a lot in very little time... perfect for the silly season!!

If you would like to buy any of the items I have used today, please head on over to my store by clicking HERE!

Happy Crafting,
