TGIF #59 Sketch Challenge - Celebrate Today

Super quick birthday card was needed today for Mr 6, who has a birthday party tomorrow. Man, that boy is popular, which is great, until you have to make tons of boy cards all the time!!

Well, as it was also my week over at TGIF I thought I might as well kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. We have a fantastic sketch challenge and it made it so easy to whip up a card:

And here is my card with my interpretation of the sketch:

I'm absolutely mad about our new 2016/18 in-colours. I really didn't think I would be as my heart still aches for Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar, but these colours are really finding their way into my heart.

Now, I know everyone is out there using all the super new stamps, but I still love to play with a few old favorites and Celebrate Today just happens to be one of them. This set is fantastic for boy cards as the balloons are so masculine but they are also perfect to be turned into a shaker cards which is exactly what I did here.

Well, all I have to do is wrap the present, which my son told me was absolutely Epic and that's my mummy jobs done for the night... must be time for a glass of wine!!

Celebrate Today - Welcome baby

Today's card was made for one of my friends who had a gorgeous baby boy a few weeks ago. I have been wanting to send it away, but it also happened to be a card that my girls made in class this month. Anyway, classes are done for the month and now this little card can go on it's away.

I adore the Celebrate Today stamp set. I find it's so versatile and can be used for all different types of occasions, plus having matching framelits just makes this stamp set simply perfect!

On my card today, I actually cut three of the balloons out, folded them in half and stuck them together, to give this three dimensional look. It was a trick, people were using when making 3d ornaments for Christmas last year. It works with any symmetrical shape.

I really wanted to keep the card fairly simply and not to frilly, as after all it is for a little prince, but also keeping it soft too. I think gathering and layering the trim and lace together and pairing it with the vintage button it perfect. The gold metallic thread bow is the icing on top.

So as I pop this card in the post, I just received a text from another friend to tell me she just had her baby girl today!!! Looks like I'm off back to the Scraproom again today!

Celebrate Everyday

Morning guys,

I have been busy crafting away the last few days and feel like I finally have my mojo back again. I borrowed the Celebrate Today bundle from my downline Shelly as I had seen a cute card I wanted to case and now 4 cards and a handbag later and I'm totally in love with this set. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it carry's over from the Occasions catty to our new Annual Catalogue (only 7 weeks away!!)

So my first share for today was a card I made for one of my favourite demos who is having a birthday tomorrow. No I can't tell you who it is as she might just pop in and I don't want to spoil the surprise!!

Once I realised what I had planned for this card, I was soooo pleased that this stamp set comes with matching framelits. No fussy cutting for me, especially so many of these Typeset DSP balloons.

The card is pretty, vintage and soft which suits the birthday girl who it's going to!!
