Tags til Christmas

I'm still being a super busy beaver at the moment, getting ready for my upcoming Christmas market, but I wanted to share these gorgeous Gift Tag bags I've whipped up.

I made these using the brilliant 'Tags Til Christmas' stamp set. This stamp set is perfect, as far as I'm concerned. Any stamp that has a matching punch is amazing and this whole set matches one punch or another... BRILLIANT!!

So with a bit of ink, cardstock and a punch and your done. Cute, easy, cheap Christmas Tags!! And who could go wrong when teaming the tags with some super sparkly Glimmer paper. They are going to look gorgeous under the Christmas tree with all the fairy lights sparkling.

Right better get on, have more bows to share with you in the next few days!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Joy to the world

Have you fallen in love with Stampin' Ups Shaker frames yet? No, well you better get with it Buddy. They are AWESOME!!!

I used them a few months ago to make these gorgeous Shaker Ornament cards and I thought it was high time to use them again.

This time I used the Ornament punch to make the letter "O" to form the words, Joy and Hope. I then punched 1 1/4 circle punch to make a hole, which i then added the shaker frame to and filled with glitter. Pop a window sheet over the top and Voila, Shaker Ornament!!

Oh and of course I had to add some bakers twine and jingle bells... it's not Christmas without glitter and jingle bells, if you ask me !!

Quick and beautiful, the perfect Christmas Card.

Have Fun,
Chlo

Candle Easel Card

I was visiting some of my favorite websites the other night, when I came across the most amazing card on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. I L.O.V.E Dawns site. She is so awesome and Super Duper Talented too.

Anyway, this card is a different take on the Easel card and a peek-a-boo card. Plus she puts a tealight in it too. Honestly it's so beautiful at night!!

So I knew I had to make this card for my gorgeous bestie Amy. She makes and sells her own candles and I knew this would be perfect as her Christmas Card this year... I hope your not peeking Amy lol!!

This is them open and standing up. The next photos are of the cards closed and laying flat. They are still the same size as a normal card and fit in an aveage sized envelop.

Mine are little different to Dawns as I had none of the goodies Dawn used (note to self, need more Stampin Up supplies!!) But you can pretty much use anything as long as the cut out, for the peek-a-boo part, isn't bigger then the fold on the Easel part.

But I know you all want to see what they look like at night, right??

Just remember to use a battery operated tealights and not a real one. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that Cardstock and candles DON'T like each other!!!

And even the inside is pretty...

Anyway, the link to Dawn's site will take you direct to her video tutorial, with full details... I'm good to you, right!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Festive Friday #44

Woo hoo, it's Friday which means time for another Festive Friday Challenge! This week we had a photo of a jar peppermints for inspiration and as I'm still making goodies for my Christmas markets, I really couldn't go past the little candy cane reindeers. They are soo cute, that my kids ask me to make them every year.

This year I jazzed them up with some gorgeous little jingle bells, that tingle when moved. I also had a play around with the new Stampin Up dazzle markers. Can you believe you can use them in the exact same where as the other markers, which means you can ink up stamps and stamp with them. This is what I did to make my little metallic "Merry Christmas" tag.

Super cute, super easy and super cheap to make. Perfect for their little friends at school.

Thanks for popping in and if you feel like checking out the latest challenge then jump over and have a go, I know the girls would love to see what you have come up with!!

Have fun,

Chlo

Bows, Bows and more Bows

So, while I have been making cards for my upcoming markets, I have also been thinking about other goodies I could make to sell. I have seen these gorgeous handmade bows online and I thought I would have a go at making one. I actually took one apart to get an idea on measurements and how it all "works"!!

I started with a 6" x 12" piece of DSP and I cut out the following pieces:-

8x 1" by 6"
4x 1" by 5"
1x 1" by 4"

Below I've put the pieces back together, to give you an idea on how to cut them all out without wasting your paper.

Next, just wrap each piece around until they look like this, in the photo below. The 1"x4" just loops back around on it's self.

Then just stick each group of four together to make and "X" or cross shape (some of mine are a little wonky lol). These are then layered on top of each other from biggest to smallest. I used double sided tape to keep everything together, but I guess brads or even staples would work too.

Last of all add the loop in the middle and Voila, you have a beautiful, handmade, custom bow!!

They are actually really quick and easy to make once you've done the first and I now have a lovely, colourful pile of them sitting in a box, all ready to sell!!

Have Fun,
Chlo

Christmas card class

So i have started getting ready for my upcoming Christmas card class, which is on  17th Nov. My girls will be able to make 6 cards for $20 and I thought I would just show a sample of what two of these cards will be... Sshhs it's Top Secret, for your eyes only!!

The first one is a CASE from the gorgeous Sue Madex. My card is pretty much exact except for how I got mine so Glittery. Sue used Heat and Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds. I used a Versarmark pad and Iridescent Ice, then heated it with the gun. I think it gives the exact same effect and it's so gorgeous and sparkly!!

So after such a huge hit with the Iridescent Ice technique, I thought I would make another card but using one of the other stamps from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set. This set has been around forever and it's such a beautiful set. A must have in everyones collection

This time I double stamped the group of trees, to give the snowy, foggy effect (which reminds me of an English winter scene). I used the Iridescent Ice technique again and added some gorgeous bakers twine (which I LOVE) and couldn't help adding a few jingle bells, just for fun!!

This photo shows you the sparkle a little bit better, but still doesn't do it any justice...

So Christmasy isn't it... if that's even a word lol. I can't wait to share the other cards, that we will make in class, with you all but you might have to wait until afterwards, as I don't want to spoil the surprise for my class girls!

Have fun,
Chlo

Cheeky monster owls

I saw this gorgeous card on Pinterest the other day by Kathy Gennari. And she had made these gorgeous little monsters with the owl punch. Now I expect we have all seen how super versatile the owl punch can be but this was the first time I've seen these little critters.

So anyway, my Besties little girl had her 1st birthday party coming up and I thought I would give the owl monsters a try and maybe make them girlie...

I think that's as girlie as a "Monster" can get lol. The DSP is Summer Smooches, which is such a gorgeous pack full of bright, bold colours and patterns. And the little bit of silver Glimmer paper just ties it all together... Who said glimmer paper was JUST for Christmas :-)
