Blends and Butterflies Are Made For Each Other - Butterfly Gala

I saw this gorgeous card (which you can see HERE) by Emma Goddard, The Coastal Crafter, the other day and I absolutely loved it. I loved how you had used the Blends to give her butterflies two different shades without the usual blending. I also just loved her colour pallet too. This is my CASE of Emma's card:

After making her card, I decided I wanted to do the same technique again, with the butterflies but change the card design and that is how my card was made:

It's just such a crisp, clean card and I think the colours just sing together. I also love using my Blends in a different way too.

Did you also notice the two little scored lines in the card. This is one of my favourite techniques. I just use the score blade on my trimmer and added to gentle score lines. It's so easy to do and I just like the elegant of it.

Now, don't forget you can purchase all this items at any time through my Online Store which is open 24/7, just for your conveniences !

NEW Stampin' Blends Class January 2019 - Humming Along

I'm absolutely loving these school holidays and the fact I've been able to get into my craftroom more then usual, which means I've been able to get ahead on my classes for the next few months.

One class which I'll be rerunning this year is my very popular Blends Class. The girls have absolutely loved the class last year and I have a whole heap of new crafters signing up to attend this years class too.

My first class of the year is always a very easy card, just so I can teach the ladies the very basics of colouring and blending. Here are the two cards we will be making in January:

I received the Humming Along stamp set at Onstage and I was so excited with it because I knew it would be a perfect set for people just trying out colouring with our amazing Blends.

I really love the line work on this little hummingbird and couldn't wait to start colouring him in. I suddenly wasn't sure exactly what colours hummingbirds are. I know they are a bright metallic blue and green but when I suddenly came to adding it on him, I wasn't sure where to start. So I did a quick Google search on hummingbirds and used that as my inspiration.

The colours on the Hibiscus came from my very own plant that sits in my front garden. Hibiscus come in so many colours that you really can't go wrong. Just remember, when adding depth or the darker shaded area, to think where you would actually see those deeper colours on a flower.

If you have started using our amazing Blends markers, I really urge you to give it a try. You honestly do get better with more practice and if your aren't sure which colours to get first, take a look at which stamp sets you have to colour and decide from there. Most people have flower stamps and so I always think you can never go wrong with a green and a pink combo!!

Kit stamps aren't just for kits - Incredible Like You

I've got two lovely, simply cards to share with you today. Both cards are pretty much the same designs and idea but I have just changed the colour and layout a little.

I had been making up the Incredible Like You kit and always like to find other ways to use the coordinating stamp set. I also had out the Forever Lovely stamp set, which I had been using to make my cards for my Product Class and Cards to Go kit (More information on that can be found HERE). I noticed all my messy, stamping off on my grid paper and it actually gave me the idea for these two cards.

The first one is very romantic and pairs Crumb Cake with Lovely Lipstick:
I just love the random, floating hearts coming out behind the sentient. The heart cluster stamp is from the Forever Lovely set and the gorgeous sentiment it from the Incredible Like You set. Don't you think they pair beautifully together.

The hearts are actually a mixture of Lovely Lipstick and Flirty Flamingo, in both full strength and stamped off.

Now the second cards is kind of same same but different. Same idea but a slightly different layout. This time I paired Powder Pink with Coastal Cabana and it turns out I'm loving these colours together:
The hearts are stamped in Flirty Flamingo and again in a mixture of full strength and stamped off. Instead of them clustered behind the sentiment, they look like they are fulling from the sky and I decided to add a little bling to this card, with a few metallic sequins.

Well I hope that will help you get more love out of your kit stamp sets. This stamps aren't just for kits but for whatever else you can imagine!!

Happy Crafting,
Chloe
