Quick and Easy Christmas card - Santa's Sleigh

Do you often find you have extra stamped or die cut images hanging around your table? I do all the time. In fact I have so many these day's that I actually had to get a little pot to store them all. I guess it's the scrapbooker in me that never likes to throw something away 'just in case'!!

Well today it worked in my favor as I had a few of the little reindeer stamped and die cut from the double z fold card that I had made a little while ago. I had decided they were too cute to throw out so they were sitting in my little pot and waiting to be used and they worked perfectly on today's card:

This card came together super fast and I really do love it!! There is very little prep time and the hardest part is making the rosettes, which when you get into the swing of it, really don't take that long.

The musical sheet DSP is from the annual catalogue and is called This Christmas specialty paper. It's such a gorgeous pack of paper and I just love that you get four sheets (2x of each design) so it last that little bit longer.

Santa's Sleigh Double Z fold video Tutorial

Wow guys, the feedback on my double Z-fold had been fantastic and iIhave had lots of request for a tutorial. So I did try and sit down to write one out but it was taking forever, so I decided that this would be the perfect time to try and make my very first video tutorials over at YouTube.

* Night of Navy Base: 

Cut - 11" x 4" Score - 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

* Whisper White Cardstock:

 Cut - 3 7/8" x 10 7/8" 

then cut again at - 2 5/8", 5 1/4" and 10 5/8

* Kraft Cardstock: 

Cut - 6" x 6"

* 3 pieces Window Sheet: 

1st: Cut - 1 1/2" x 10 7/8". Score - 5 1/2" and 8 1/4"

2nd: Cut - 3" x 4"

3rd: Cut - 1 1/2" x  4"

Can You Case it #136 Sketch Challenge - Happy Ornament

I'm super sad to announce that this is my last week of being on the Design Team for CYCI. I've absolutely loved being part of this team and I will be sad to say goodbye but I know I will be back to take part in lots of their challenge to come.

And so I leave on a sketch challenge, which are always my favorite, so that's kind of fitting.

This is going to be one popular challenge I'm sure of it and there is so much you can do with it too. Oh and the fact that you don't have to stick anything down straight is a huge plus in my book!! Ok so here is my card for this week:

I've been hanging out to use my new big ornament stamp called Happy Ornament, from the Holiday Catalogue. I've actually not come across any samples or other cards made with this stamp which I find really surprising. Maybe my card will be the start of a revolution!

I stamped the image onto a piece of water-colour paper and used a few different shade of purple to get the ombre effect. I then cut it out and popped it up on another piece of water-colour paper.

The actually idea of the layout came from another sample which is in the catalogue and on the same page as the happy ornament. I love the idea of stamping a sentiment over and over again to make my own DSP.

Can you see the stitching around the water-coloured paper?? That's my first attempt at machine sewing and I was pretty pleased with my effort. I'm sure there will be more of that to come!

Card Classes Dates

Wow, here we are at the last quarter of the year and my last class dates for 2016. Now you will notice that unlike the last few years, I've decided to run an extra set of classes in Dec instead of taking the month off and I have also added a few Saturday classes for those people who work during the week. Fingers crossed that this way I can help you all a little, with the madness of Christmas.

Classes are as always, first come first serve. Please direct deposit your fee ASAP to secure your spot.

For the classes where I am offering a discount when purchasing the stamp set, just let me know that's what you would like to do and we can organize the order for you:

 

One Sheet Wonder Class: We will be making 8 cards using the very clever One Sheet Wonder technique. All supplies will be included. Cost: $30 (Or purchase the Holly Berry Happiness Stamp Set or Bundle and the class fee is only $20) Date: Thursday 20th Oct - Time:1.30pm OR Saturday 15th Oct - Time: 2.30pm

Double Z fold Santa's Sleigh Class: We will be making the gorgeous Santa's sleigh card using the Santa's Sleigh Bundle Cost: $15 Date: Thursday 17th Nov - Time:1.30pm OR Saturday 19th Nov - Time: 2.30pm.

Tin of Tags Product Class: By now I know most of you will have organized your Christmas cards and it's time to start thinking about wrapping the presents. I have the perfect product class for you!! Purchase your own Tin of Tags kit and come along to class where we can sit together and create them. There is no need to buy the coordinating stamp set as I will have one to use, along with all the ink colours needed. Cost: $5 when purchasing the Tin of Cards Kit. Date: Thursday 15th Dec - Time:1.30pm OR Saturday 10th Dec - Time: 2.30pm.

Chicks and Chocolate Class: A fun evening of chatting, crafting and of course Chocolate. We will be making a different Christmas card each month and this class is ideal for those just starting out in card making or for those who just need to add to their Christmas card pile.

Who wouldn't want to go to Alaska? - Incentive Trip 2018

That's the question I've been asking myself a lot at the moment. You see, every year Stampin' Up! has an all expenses paid trip for two to different parts of the world. This year it was a Mediterranean Cruise, next year it's to Thailand and they have just announced that the Incentive Trip for 2018 is to Alaska.

These trips are very, very hard to earn but well worth all the blood, sweat and tears. And do you know what? I've decided that I want to go to Alaska. I want to be able to take my husband on a holiday of our dreams. I want to be able to say " Look what I did this year"

 

And so this is me, putting it out into the world and saying I can do this, but only with the support of my long suffering husband, who will have to look after the children while I'm out running workshops, parties, markets and classes. Support of my team members who will be there to provide reassurance and encouragement (it would also help big time girls if you can recruit, promote and sell heaps too ) and especially to all of you, my stamping addicts. Without you holding workshops and parties, coming along to my classes and events and of course adding to your own stamp addiction i couldn't get there.

So once the Stampin' Up! year starts in Oct, so will my run for the Incentive Trip. I just want to say a big Thank You in advance to you all, because I already know you guys will do everything you can to support me, because you are all just that bloody Awesome!!

TGIF #71 Colour Challenge - I Stamped This

Yippee it's Friday again and time for a colour challenge with the guys from TGIF. And these colours are to die for this week. They really are gorgeous!!

I just love it when my job is made this easy. Aren't these colours fantastic and so easy to use too. My card is using the Perpetual calendar stamps, which is a set that is so under utilised in my opinion and I paired that with another set that seems to be flying under the radar and really shouldn't be:

Yep, that sentiment is from a newish stamp set called I Stamped This and it's a brilliant little set. I think it's suppose to be used for the back of cards and tags as it has sentiments like "I baked this" and " handcrafted by" but I'm never one to follow the rules and decided that it would also make great little general cards. In fact, I actually used this card design to make my little customer Thank You cards this week.

The butterflies are stamped in all three colours but I double stamped each colour without reinking. So the first one is full strength Rich Razzleberry and then I stamped again without reinking. The next pair of butterflies is Sweet Sugarplum full strength and half, followed lastly by Blushing Bride. I hope that makes since!!

I stamped the sentiment on Blushing Bride, backed it onto a Rich Razzleberry circle and finished it off with a diecut from the cute mini treat bag die. I've really got to get these dies out of their pockets and onto a magnet sheet, as so many of them have fantastic little element dies that you forget are in there.
