Bigger then the Ocean - Whale Done

Happy Saturday guys and welcome back to the blog. Today I have a card that I created as part of a Mystery Stamping challenge that I set up in the Direct2SU Facebook page, that myself and my fellow council members run for demo's in the South Pacific that don't have Uplines and are direct to Stampin' Up!.

So what is Mystery Stamping? Well it's something that I hadn't heard of before either but it was so much fun. Someone gives you the dimensions of the cardstock and a list product that you need to create the card and then you go away and make a card using those instructions. It's so much fun as each card comes out completely differently depending on your own interpretation and this was the card I created for that challenge.

I have been wanting to use the Whale of a Time pattern paper for so long. It has so many beautiful pieces in it, that I think you could choose any piece your card would be stunning.

Can we just take a minute to talk about this new Seabed 3D embossing folder. It, is STUNNING and it doesn't matter how many times I use it, it pretty much takes my breath away each time. This folder is one of those must have folders and I promise you, it will never leave you stash. It really is a keeper!

Well I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get some craft time in,

Happy 21st Birthday - Well Worded Dies

I don't often get the chance to make really girly girl cards. My daughter is a bit of a footy head and pink isn't her thing. However, my besties daughter just turned 21 and she loves pink. In fact her birthday party colour theme was pink and rose gold, so I obviously had to make a card that matched.
This card is so stunning in real life and it is full of techniques. From the watercolour washed hearts, to the glimmer embossed paste background stencil, this card is just full of sparkle and magic.
I absolutely love the Brushed Foil cardstock that is currently in the Holiday Catalogue. It's got just the slightest hint of a brushed pattern on it and so bright and shiny but the real magic, is that even after going through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine, it never picks up any of the patterns from your scratched plates. I just love that!

Sometimes its just so much fun going all out and creating with your heart... until you have to clean up afterwards that is!

Happy Crafting and Cleaning,

Peace to You and Yours - Peace & Joy

I can't believe it's only 6 weeks until Christmas and I'm not at all ready yet. I keep telling myself I must get my families card in the UK sent and yet another weeks has passed by and they are still sitting on my desk. Why is it harder to write in cards then it is creating them?

The card I wanted to share with you today is one that I created a few weeks ago. I had this idea of a snowy dark sky with glittery trees and so I got out my inks, my blending brushes and set to work.

The background tree dies from the Home Together set was perfect for this card and I love how we have two different slopes that can be layered together. I would have loved to have used some white glimmer cardstock, but instead I swished my Wink of Stella over the trees, to make them look like snow.

The white splatters in the background (which if you follow my Instagram page, you'll know caused me a bit of a problem..) were created by mixing some white craft reinker with our frost shimmer paint and then using a paint brush to flick it across the background. it gives a really lovely snow effect.

I finished the card of with the "Peace" word die and coordinating stamped sentiment from the Peace and Joy Bundle.

Now to actually sit down and fill out the cards and send them on their happy way!

Christmas Cheer - Coming Home

I love the Coming Home suite. I love the little houses in the stamps and the snowfields in the dies. I also love the Designer Series Paper, especially the sheets that have all the Christmas sentiments on it in a few different languages. It's such a fantastic suite and today, my card shows a little bit of everything.

This card really is pretty simple. A few coloured circles popped behind my cute little house that I coloured using our Stampin' Blends. And then I simply cut two of the sentiments from the Coming Home paper and that pretty much finishes this card off.

Now I know I've used the retired embossing folder, Softly Falling, but somethings you just can't part with and this folder is most definitely one of them.

And to prove how quick this card was to make, I whipped up another, but changed the colours on the house and the circles and came up with this one, which is a bit more traditional for Christmas.

I'm not the biggest fan of red or green for Christmas cards, but I do really like how this card came out. I also changed my design to a landscape card, just for something a bit different.

This suite has to be one of the most versatile sets from this years Holiday catalogue and I've used so much of that designer series paper that I think I''l be popping an order for another pack very soon!
