TGIF #108 Sketch Challenge - Wood Texture DSP

Happy Friday everyone and today I'm stopping in just quickly to share this weeks challenge with the team at TGIF.
http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com.au/2017/05/tgifc108-sketch-challenge.html
This week we have a fun sketch challenge which was perfect for a birthday card for hubby.

I kept my card pretty clean and what I hope, masculine, by using the new Wood Texture Designer Series Paper. I really love these papers and think they make the best backgrounds.

I teamed it up with a little wooden embellishment that I found floating around and of course a gold glimmer heart. Just the right amount of bling!!

Well that really is all for me today, I did say it was a quick post. I'm currently up to my eyeballs in prep for my Biggest Morning Tea that my friend Nic and I are hosting this coming Sunday. It should be amazing, I promise I'll post all about it next week!!

I hope you find sometime this week to check out the TGIF Blog and hopefully have a bit of fun with the sketch!

TGIF Case the Designer #100 - Sweet Cupcake

Welcome to a super exciting post for the Designer Team at TGIF this week. Being the end of the month means it's a Case the Designer week and we are casing none other then our leader and super talented Mercedes Weber. Plus this is our #100 challenge too!!

So when you pop over and take a look at Mercedes amazing card creations, I noticed that she will often makes a batch of cards using lots of Designer Series Paper but with the same layout. So keeping that idea in mind, this is what I came up with:

It's such a simple design and it shows off the DSP perfectly. It's also a great way to make a huge batch of cards in a very sort time (perfect for all the birthday parties my kids seem to be invited too, these days)

I ended up making a batch of these using the colours in the gorgeous Tasty Treats Designer series paper and that paper pairs perfectly with the Sweet Cupcakes stamp set and dies.

I'm so thrilled with how these cards came out and I will be using this layout again, that's for sure!! So now it's time for you to head on over and check out what all the other DT's have made.

And make sure you all visit Mercedes blog too. You are bound to find heaps of inspiration!!

TGIF Theme Challenge #78 - Candy Cane Lane

Wow, this week has been crazy and just to prove it, this post is going live to you from Fiji, which is where I'm on our first overseas family holiday. Yep that's right I'm in FIJI!!!

So I'm actually away until the day before I attend Onstage Live in Brisbane, and that means I've had to get everything organized weeks in advance. My swaps, Roomie gifts, something else very exciting but you'll have to wait and see what that is a in a few weeks, class prep and my design team cards, which is what brings us to todays post. It is my week to DT for the fantastic TGIF Blog:

Now when I saw the candy theme, I had this card idea pop into my head and I loved the concept. It wasn't until after I made it, I thought, ummm maybe I should have done Halloween!!

Anyway, here is my card:

I just love the paring of the framelit 'sweet" from the Cupcake dies and using it with those fantastic Gingerbread houses. The houses are actually cut out from the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper (which is included in our Buy 3 get 1 Free promo, but only until the end of the month). I just added a little glitter to the tops and popped them up with dimensionals.

Well I better get back to drinking my cocktails and watching the kids snorkel in the ocean. I am still contactable and of course you can always order online in my store, 24hrs 7 days a week. In fact I just placed a order this morning.

Make sure you check out the TGIF Blog and see what stunners the other guys have come up with!!

Happy Crafting and BULA!!

Twist and Pop Fold Card - Sweet Cupcake

I absolutely love the card I'm sharing with you all today and I really thought it would be so much harder to make then it actually was.

Today I made a Twist and Pop card for my step Dad's 50th Birthday:
So the front doesn't look anything too special and that was on purpose. I didn't want to to detract from the gorgeousness of the inside

How fantastic are these cards!! I honestly, couldn't get a good enough photo of it to show how amazing it is. I think I will have to do a video for you all!!

I used lots of gold and glitter, after all it is a 50th, to really make the card stunning.

I decided to use the Sweet Cupcake bundle to decorate the inside, as everyone loves cupcakes!!

So, now I have to pop this in the post and send it off to India where my parents live for 6 month of the year. They have such a fun life!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Global Design Project #45 - Sweet Cupcake

So last night I was cutting and planning for my class today and I realised I was a card short!! I didn't have an idea leap out at me so I took myself off to the internet to check out some of my favorite Challenge blogs to look for inspiration. As soon as I saw the colour challenge at the Global Design Project I knew I had found the one:
http://www.global-design-project.com/2016/07/global-design-project-045-colour18.html
Now even though Melon Mambo isn't a colour I use that much, I instantly had an idea for a card and so I thought I would tie the colours in with it:

I'm totally loving this little number and it's even better that it came together perfectly which, let me tell you, never happens.

I've seen lots of the different styles of the Z card but have never actually tried it out and I really love this little fancy fold. It's super easy to make and still looks like it took a long time to make.

The Pop of Pink patterned paper was the perfect choice for this challenge too and I of course had to tie in my cupcake with the colours too. It's hard to see in the photo but I also added Wink of Stella to the darker shades of the Cupcake frosting, which is super sparkly in real life.

Well that's it for me. A big thank you to the talented DT's for the amazing inspiration this week and  make sure you pop over and have a look yourself!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo
