Santa's Sleigh - Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek

Ok, so I made this card today and usually I would have blogged about it tomorrow or even Sunday, but to be honest I just loved it so much and completely thrilled with how it came out, that I really couldn't wait to share it with you all!!

Gosh, isn't that just the cutest Christmas card. I usually send a special card to my Mum, Nan and Mother-in-law but I love this one so much I'm pretty sure I'll be posting it to myself!!

Z folds are all in at the moment and as soon as I got my new Santa's Sleigh stamp set and matching framelits I knew this was what I was going to use it for. Funnily enough, my gorgeous friend and fellow demo Kim at Kim's Paper Krafts, had the exact same idea and so we got together this afternoon for a few hours and made our cards. They are kind of the same but different. I sponged my background, where Kim used the salt resist technique. I love the fact we had the same plan but came up with different cards. There are so many Holiday Catalogue sneak peeks on this card. We have the Santa's Sleigh stamps and framelits which come in a bundle and the little jingle bells which come in a mixed box of silver and red. Oh and yes they do really ring too.

Global Design Project #45 - Sweet Cupcake

So last night I was cutting and planning for my class today and I realised I was a card short!! I didn't have an idea leap out at me so I took myself off to the internet to check out some of my favorite Challenge blogs to look for inspiration. As soon as I saw the colour challenge at the Global Design Project I knew I had found the one:

Now even though Melon Mambo isn't a colour I use that much, I instantly had an idea for a card and so I thought I would tie the colours in with it:

 I'm totally loving this little number and it's even better that it came together perfectly which, let me tell you, never happens.

I've seen lots of the different styles of the Z card but have never actually tried it out and I really love this little fancy fold. It's super easy to make and still looks like it took a long time to make.

The Pop of Pink patterned paper was the perfect choice for this challenge too and I of course had to tie in my cupcake with the colours too. It's hard to see in the photo but I also added Wink of Stella to the darker shades of the Cupcake frosting, which is super sparkly in real life.

Congratulations - Sheltering Tree

I've been meaning to make a Z fold card for a while and decided that it would be fun to whip one up for class this week. These kind of fancy folds are so much fun and really turn your normal card into a wow card with just one simple, extra fold.

This week in class I was designing cards using the gorgeous Sheltering Tree stamp set and showing how it can me used for more then just a tree.

In today's card I just used the "leaves" stamp to make a very stunning, yet simple background for my wooden embellishment to sit against. Doesn't it look great!! I wanted to keep the whole card very neutral, as I wanted the gorgeous Designer Series Paper to be the stand out on the card.

The paper used is called Timeless Elegance and it really is beautiful. The photo of the collection in the catalog really doesn't do this paper justice. I love absolutely every design and find it very hard to use. I'm such a paper hoarder!!

But with all my cards, I couldn't help but add a little bit of sparkly or glam to my cards and so I sneaked in a little piece of gold thread, just to give it that finished feeling!! Ahhhh, my inner Crafter is happy now.
