Just Add Ink #337 - Hey, Chick.

Well it feels like forever since I took part in a challenge with the Just Add Ink team. I've been so busy with everything else happening that the time has flown by. Anyway, I'm back and super excited with this weeks challenge. We have three options of items to use on your card and we want you to just pick two of them. Couldn't get nay easier right!!
http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/2016/11/just-add-ink-337just-choose-two.html
I absolutely love the card I made and it's using some new product from the upcoming Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogues. I decide to use a diecut, the stitched framelits, and Designer Series Paper.

As soon as I saw the chickens in the new Hey, Chick stamp set I new I had to have them. There are three different types of chickens plus a little egg and some fun sentiments. I think it's going to be a very popular set come this January.

I embossed the chicken with black embossing powder and then I used my aqua painters to colour her in, with So Saffron, Pink Pirouette and Calypso Coral. Adding a little Smokey Slate around the outside of the chicken makes it pop just that little bit more.

I adore our new Stitched Shape Framelits and really think they just add that perfect finishing touch. I can guarantee, you will be seeing a lots more "stitching" on my cards to come!!

That's it from me today. I really do hope you will pop over and visit all the other DT's blogs, there really are some amazing creations this week. And don't forget to take part too, so I can pop over and visit you!!

Onstage Display Cards Day 3 - Lift Me Up

Yeah it's Friday and day 3 of my Onstage Display samples. Today both cards are from the Lift Me Up stamp set and matching dies. The first one is a little more vintage then my usual style, but it's my Phileas Fogg card:

It's very soft and feminine and because I was looking for that 1700's vintage feel, I used Very Vanilla and added some sponging and stitching.

How much easier will it be to achieve that gorgeous stitching look with out new Stitched Framelits. I just checked my delivery and they should be here today... Squeal!!

The colours I've chosen for the balloons, Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Wisteria Wonder, are also some of my less favourite but they really work well together and I always like to be pushed outside of my comfort zone. It's like a little mini challenge.

Ok so on to my next one. This card couldn't be more different to my first one. It's so bold and bright and the colours really pop against the black die cut.

I just love the how you can layer cardstock or patterned paper behind this balloon and it really is easy to do. The panels fit perfectly, without them overlapping at all.

I decided to use clear embossing powder and heat set my floating balloons. I wanted them to be more for texture rather then visual and I think that worked perfectly. When you catch them in the light they really are shiny.

Lastly, my card needed a sentiment and I had no idea where it was going to go at first. After some thinking I decided to go for a bit of gold embossing on the main card. Now this is always scary to do, especially when you have the whole card put together already. But I do love to stamp on the edge and so I used my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig and it all came together perfectly.... Phew!!

Would you like your very own copy of the new Occasions Catalogue?? I actually received 5 copies at onstage as part of Prize Patrol and I've decided to offering them out to the first 5 people who place a $50 order through my online store. Unfortunately this offer is only available to Australian residents.

And don't forget I still have a few of the Pop Up bins available too. So head on over to my shop place a $50 order today and you will receive a copy of the Occasions Catalogue and also a pop up bin. But this is only for the first 5 orders, so be quick and order today!! Oh remember to check out the 25% off stamps that are currently on sale too!!

Onstage Display Cards Day 2 - Lift Me Up

Welcome back to day 2 of my share-fest. Today I'm sharing samples using the Lift Me Up stamp set and the matching framelits but only one of them is actually a card?!?

Let's start with the card first.
Now when I first received this set, I loved all the hot air balloons in the set. They are so vintage and reminded me of one of my favourite Jules Verne books, Around the world in 80 days.

I then opened up the framelits and I was instantly in love with this gorgeous, intricate hot air balloon die. Whats even more exciting, is that there are other dies in the set that look like a curved band and these are for cutting paper and layering behind the balloon, which is what I did for this card.

I used some scraps of the Cupcakes and Carousel DSP and layered them behind the black die cut. Those clever peeps over at head office really do think of everything!!

Ok, so now for the non card that I made. Once I had started cutting a few of the gorgeous balloon die cuts, I instantly knew it would make a fantastic mobile for a little boy's room and that's exactly what I did.
Gosh, this little stunner was hard to photograph. It would not stay still for a moment!! But I really was thrilled with how it turned out and I think it got a few "wow's" at Onstage too.

To make the balloons, I cut three from each colour and used the fine tip glue pen to stick them together. I threaded cotton through the middle and then added a few of the die cut Dazzling Diamonds clouds to the top and bottom. Finally finished it all off with a pair of silver bells at the end of the cotton. These make a gorgeous sound in the breeze and they also add a little bit of weight to the mobile.

Now if you would like your own copy of the new Occasions catalogue, then please send me an email with you postal address and come the middle of Dec I will pop on in the post for you. Australian address only.

Onstage Display cards Day 1 - Lift Me Up and Carousel Birthday

I really am thrilled to finally be able to share the two stamp sets that I received from Stampin' Up! for my Display stamper duties, Lift Me Up and Carousel Birthday. Both are absolutely gorgeous and I had so many idea on how to use them.

Each day this week, I'll share two samples from the 15 that I have created... ohh it's getting exciting now!!

First up, is a card using the gorgeous Lift Me Up stamp set and it's coordinating framelits:

Can I just say that this sentiment "Sending smiles across the miles" is going to be my most used sentiment ever. Of course I adore the sentiment itself, but the font and layout is just perfect. I literally swooned when I saw this sentiment!!

How cute is this card. The paper 'Cupcakes and Carousels' pairs perfectly with this stamp set and the colours are so fresh even though the patterns have such a vintage, retro feel to them.

I love all the little clouds and the balloons that have matching framelits. It makes my job super easy!!

Ok so my next design to share with you, is a card made using the other stamp set that I received which is the 'Carousel Birthday' set.

These two sets really do pair well together and I think you see that with the DSP and Embellishment kit. Anyway, here is my second card for today:

Out of all the samples I made, this was the one I just loved the most. It's so soft and girly and would be perfect for a little princesses birthday.

Now before you ask, no there isn't a framelit for the gorgeous little carousel horse. I did actually fussy cut it out. It really wasn't too hard and it does look fantastic on the card.

I used an aqua painter to colour in the horse, this time around but I'm pretty excited about out new watercolour pencils that are coming out in the catty too. They would be perfect for this sort of fine, detailed stamp.

Well that's it for me today. Make sure you check back in tomorrow for Day Two of the Sample reveal, as I have so much more to share with you yet!!

Onstage Live at Brisbane 2016

Wow, what a fantastic few day's I've had!! Onstage Live was amazing and I think one of the best conventions I've ever been to.

** Warning ** this post will be full of awesome people, beautiful samples and will make you want to join my team so you can come to our next one!! Oh and it's pretty picture heavy too, so apologies in advance.

I had 5 of my team join me this year, plus my gorgeous friend and fellow demo Rochelle Blok (who also just so happens to be on the new 2016/17 Artisan Design Team) and we stayed at the Meriton which was gorgeous and the highest building in Brisbane. Out of 74 floors, the girls and I stayed on the 73th!! Our ear's popped every time we used the elevator.

One of the things I look forward to when going to an Onstage event, is to see how the convention centre is decorated and this year's theme was vintage and very 'Around the world in 80 days'. There are always heaps of places to stop and get your team photo's taken.

We got to pick up our fantastic bag, which had a free stamp set, a lovely planner/notebook and a few other little bits and pieces. And that's when the fun really begins!!

The next few days were filled with live entertainment, stamping presentations, classes, make & takes, prize patrol, recognitions and award presentations. A few of my girls got to stand and be recongnised for their achievements and promotions, which is always one of my favourite parts of Onstage.

And this year, I was especially excited as my beautiful friend Rochelle, from The Stamping Blok, was chosen to be on the Artisan Design Team!! I literally cried when they called out her name and brought her down onto the stage. She has worked so hard this year and her work is absolutely phenomenal. I felt so privileged that I could share the moment with her. Make sure you follow her blog so as not to miss all the amazingness that will be coming from there.

So now I'm guessing you want to see the display boards for all the new catty products. Well, anyone who is a 'Liker' on my Facebook page will have already heard, that I was actually chosen to be one of the Product Display Stampers this year!!

It was so exciting to see my name amongst all the other super talented demo's that were asked to display too.

I was super lucky to be sent a box of new product to make some samples for the display boards and over the next week I will be writing a post each day to share 2 of the 15 samples that I made!!

But in the mean time, I've put together a little college of the samples, just to wet your appetite:

Well, that's all I have for you today. Please check back in with me this week as I will be sharing more details of each of the samples I made.

And if you would love to attend the next Onstage with me and my team, then why not think about joining Stampin' Up! There is so much to love about becoming a Demonstrator and if you have any questions, I really am happy to answer them. Why not pop over to my Join The Closet Crafters page and find out more information on becoming a demo. I would love for you to come with us next time!!

Onstage Brisbane 2016 - Happy Ornament Swap

Hooray we are finally at OnStage Live in Brisbane and I'm having a blast so far!! The weather is beautiful and Brisbane is absolutely shining today. My team and I had a fab flight and found our way to our gorgeous apartment easily.

There is so much that I just love about going to Onstage, and I really feel every demo, no matter whether you think of yourself as a hobbiest or a business demo, really should attend at least one event. I can pretty much guarantee that once you've been you'll want to come every single year.

My all time favorite part of Onstage, apart from getting to see all the new goodies (I can't wait to share some photos of all the new Occasions and Sale-a-Bration product with you) and the freebies, is catching up with other demo's. There is nothing more exciting then sharing something you love with 700 other like minded people. I adore catching up with old friends and it's super fun meeting new ones too.

One of the ways that we get to mingle is by "Swapping". Swaps are card fronts or 3d items or even sometimes homemade cooking that we make before we get to Onstage. We make a batch of our "swaps" and then at the beginning of Onstage, while waiting to pick up our FREE Bag, we can ask around if anyone would like to swap. This way we return home with not only lots of new samples and inspiration, but also new friendships.

So I thought I would share my swap card with you all. I actually ended up making 53 of these gorgeous cards:

I really love the simplicity of this card, while still having all the wow factor of layers stamping and glitter!!

I've recently noticed that this fantastic Happy Ornament stamp really hasn't had it's fair share in the spotlight and I wanted to do something about it as I think it's an awesome stamp, perfect size for a card and can be used in so many different ways.

To make the sentiment, I used my fabulous SU markers in Real Red and Always Artichoke to colour in the words on the inside of the stamp. The gold colour is actually my Wink Of Stella. I just coloured it straight on to the stamp. A super quick punch with the circle and Voila!!

The video tutorial and dimensions for my card can be found below. Hope you have a fantastic weekend and make sure you check in with me and see what craftiness we have been getting up to!!

Chlo

Wow, we finally made it home after a very long journey. Our 5 hour flight was delayed by an hour due to a huge storm that hit Nadi, just as we were going to board. And when we did finally make it to Sydney, we then had a 4 hour drive back to beautiful Port. Finally rolled into bed by 1.30am.

As lovely as our holiday was, there really is nothing as comfortable then your own bed, that's for sure.

And so this morning, I was up again, bright eyed and bushy tailed, grabbing groceries and getting the mountain of holiday washing done, so I can start packing for my next little adventure to Brisbane, for Stampin's Up's Onstage Live!!

But amongst all the excitement, tiredness and washing (did I meantion I have 6 loads worth to do!!) I suddenly realized that I hadn't let you all know about the fantastic new special's that SU have for us today!!

First up, is the long awaited Stitched Shape Framelits, which I am dying to get my hands on. I have included a video below of what these actually are and how you use them.
