Cuppa and Cards - Under My Umbrella: Negative Masking Technique

It's Thursday and so it means it's time to share another Cuppa and Card class with you all.

This week I tried a new technique out called Negative Masking. I was totally inspired by a card from another Demo called Jaimie Babarczy and you can see her amazing card here on her blog, Stamp It Up With Jamie.

I'm a huge fan of Mikaela at the Crafty Oink Pen and couldn't help but use her design for this card. Make sure you check her card out too: The Crafty Oink Pen.

Usually when you want to mask an image, it's to let you lay multiple stamped images down, without stamping over the top of each other and leaving lines. But on today's card, I've actually used the negative to prevent the lines from going outside of my image.

As you can see in my little umbrella, I've stamped the flower image inside of the umbrella, but only on the inside. Nothing got stamped out side, leaving that area white.

Ok, so I know this technique is pretty hard to explain and so I thought it would be better if I made a quick video and actually showed you exactly what I mean and how to do it yourself. Your welcome!!

I hope you have fun finding ways you can use this in your crafting soon!!

Happy Crafting,
Chlo

Simply Citrus - Kit Alternatives

So I promised I would share a few more cards made with the stamps from the Simply Citrus All Inclusive card kit. And today I'm going to show you three cards that I made using some of the pieces from the kit itself, along with those super cute stamps.

The first card I actually coloured my lemons like a what I always expect a Pink lemonade lemon would look like, and obviousl had to pair it with a slice of ruby grapefruit!

The gorgeous paper running down the side is actually what the envelopes are lined with. I Know!! How cute is it. I just gentle pulled the envelop apart and then trimmed off all the flaps. What a great way to use that gorgeous pattern.

My second card was created with one of the main card fronts from the kit, which I trimmed down and backed onto a piece of Basic Black. I added one of the Night Of Navy banners under the heat embossed sentiment. This time added a few sequins from the iridescent sequins that match all these citrus colours perfectly.

And here is my third card.

This card just uses up all the left over bits and pieces. When I'm colouring in with my blends, I tend to stamp and colour a page full of images and then use them as I go. So I always have a few left over bits which worked perfectly for this card. Again I used the fruity pattern paper from the envelop and the other spotty strip, is again from another envelope that I cut up (The kit has two different envelop designs.)

I always love putting our gorgeous kits together, but I have more fun, creating alternatives with either the kits or the left overs. It's so satisfying!!

So if you have been thinking of purchasing on of our kits, why not check out the simply Citrus kit. I would love to see what you create with yours.

Chlo

Cuppa and Card June - Under My Umbrella: Card One

Where has the month gone already?!? I can't believe we are already 3 weeks into our Card and Cuppa series and I haven't  had chance to share the first two cards yet.

Today's card was CASED from the amazingly talented Michelle Last. I have been following Michelle for years and I actually got to meet her in Orlando, when my lovely friend Teneale Williams introduced us. She's really is as gorgeous inside and out.

You can see Michelle's card HERE and you'll see that I really didn't change much at all. How can you improve on perfection. I just changed up my colours and of course added bling!

I'm not sure what I love most about this card. The simple touch of adding the embossed brick wall folder to the right hand side or the chance to use my Stampin' Blends to colour in those beautiful flowers. I used my favourite combo of Petal Pink, Rococo Rose, Pool Party and Old Olive.

Because this is my monthly online class, I have also recorded a tutorial for you all, so you guys can make this amazing card too:

So I hope you enjoy the tutorial and don't forget if you share your card to tag me so I can see it too!! Check back in tomorrow for last weeks card and then hopefully Thursday I will actually be up to date and can share this weeks Cuppa and Card card.. Phew!!

Hello Sunshine - Simply Citrus

I am so excited about today's card. As soon as I saw the Simply Citrus card kit in the 2020/21 Annual catalogue I knew I had to get it. I was so bummed it wasn't on the preorder list, but come 3rd  June this kit was first on my list.

Now I do love the actual kit itself (and I'll be sharing those later in the week, plus a few alternatives, so make sure to check back in) but it was the stamps that had me swooning.

Doesn't this card just scream summer time! I had so much fun creating that background. I stamped the images in white embossing powder and heat embossed them. Then, using my brushes I blended Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody over the top.

All those cute little fruit images I coloured with a combination of our awesome Stampin' Blends. I honestly had so much fun and have another 4 cards to share with you using this stamp set.

So the next time you purchase one of our awesome card kits, think about how you can use your stamps on other projects!!

Chlo
